Brighton Best Fantasy Players
As noted above, these are the Best Brighton Players for the Fantrax Fantasy EPL platform. We analyze the Seagulls' top three prospects ahead of the new season, with an estimated draft pick for each player.
Pascal Gross
Position: Midfielder
20/21 Points: 318.5 (32nd overall)
20/21 Points Per Start: 11.6
Recommended Draft Pick: 49-60 (12 Team League: Round 5)
Overview: Very good 20/21 season, Brighton's best player, consistently good Fantrax points scorer thanks to his excellent set piece delivery.
Pascal Gross was Brighton's top scorer on Fantrax last season, as he returned to prominence after a couple of fairly average seasons. The German midfielder proved to be a constant presence in Potter's midfield, and ended up as the 32nd highest scoring player due to some incredible consistency. Gross averaged 11.6 Points Per Start, but also had a fairly high floor (5.9) and a fairly high ceiling (17.3). I would expect much of the same from Gross this season. He should have MID2/3 value due to his ability to consistently hit double digits - 16 times in 27 starts! I would happily draft Gross in Round 5 of a 12 team league.
Leandro Trossard
Position: Midfielder
20/21 Points: 297 (45th overall)
20/21 Points Per Start: 9.3
Recommended Draft Pick: 61-72 (12 Team League: Round 6)
Overview: Explosive player that lacks consistent high scores, ceiling not high enough to warrant high draft pick, good pick for Round 6.
Next up is another midfielder, Leandro Trossard. I would draft him a round or two after Gross, due to his somewhat inconsistent performances. Don't get me wrong, the Belgian international is a highly talented footballer, but he can be a frustrating asset to own on Fantrax (who remembers when he hit the woodwork three times against Man Utd?). Gross has a high points floor as well as a high ceiling. Trossard on the other hand, has a really low points floor (2.2), to go alongside his fairly high ceiling (16.4). In order to win Fantrax leagues you do need explosive assets such as Trossard, but I wouldn't draft him until Round 6 or later, due to his incredibly low points floor. Players such as Vardy and Mahrez have similar points floors, but they have much higher points ceilings (24.7 and 25.1 respectively), so they are worthy of higher draft slots.
Solly March
Position: Midfielder
20/21 Points: 194.5 (122nd overall)
20/21 Points Per Start: 10.1
Recommended Draft Pick: 85-96 (12 Team League: Round 8)
Overview: Had a very strong 20/21 season, suffered a season-ending injury in February, Fantrax managers may have forgotten how good he was last season.
Solly March was Brighton's 7th highest scoring player last season, despite missing half of the campaign due to injury! The Englishman had a really stellar first half of the season as a left wing-back under Potter, proving himself to be a trusted asset in real life and on Fantrax. March averaged 10.1 Points Per Start and was generally a really solid player you could start week in, week out. As per Premier Injuries, March was back on the training fields in May and should be fully up to speed for the new season. I would look to draft him in Round 8. Hopefully your league mates have forgotten how good he actually was last season!
