Norwich City Best Fantasy Players

As noted above, these are the Best Norwich City Players for the Fantrax Fantasy EPL platform. We analyze the Canaries' top three prospects ahead of the new season, with an estimated draft pick for each player.

Teemu Pukki

Position: Forward

20/21 Points: 495.5

20/21 Points Per 90: 13

Recommended Draft Pick: 133-156 (12 Team League: Round 12 to 13)

Overview: Scored 26 goals in the Championship last season, clinical striker for Norwich at Championship level but question marks on Premier League quality, scored 11 goals during 19/20 EPL campaign.

Teemu Pukki is a great Championship level striker and certainly on his way to being a Norwich City Hall of Fame player. The Finnish international has scored 55 goals in 84 appearances for Norwich at Championship level, but I'm skeptical over his prospects for the upcoming Premier League season. Pukki bagged 11 goals during the Canaries' 19/20 EPL campaign, but most of those goals came during the first few months of the season. Now that Pukki is 31 years old, I don't think he's going to set the Premier League alight despite another terrific season with Norwich last time around.

Pukki is likely to score around 8-10 goals, and should be a decent FWD3 for most Fantrax squads. With a bang average 6.5 Ghost Points Per 90 ratio and a reliance on attacking returns, I wouldn't look at drafting him until Round 12 at the earliest. Norwich have very hard opening fixtures, so you're unlikely to start him until GW5.

Milot Rashica

Position: Midfielder

20/21 Points: 161.5

20/21 Points Per 90: 9.9

Recommended Draft Pick: 97-108 (12 Team League: Round 9)

Overview: Raw talent, has decent potential but will take time to adjust to the Premier League, don't waste an early round draft pick, not Emi Buendia.

Milot Rashica is not Emi Buendia. Lets just make that one clear from the off. I do like the club record signing of Rashica, but not with the expectation that he's going to pick up where Buendia left off and be a great Fantasy EPL asset. The Kosovo winger does have decent stats from last season, 9.3 Points Per 90 and 7.1 Ghost Points Per 90, but he only started 14 games for a Werder Bremen side who got relegated from the Bundesliga. There is potential here though, and Norwich really don't have many other attacking options. Rashica will start, will likely score decent points on Fantrax, and will be worth a punt in the mid-rounds. I wouldn't recommend drafting him until Round 8 at the very earliest. He's a player who's never played in the Premier League, at a club who realistically are likely to be relegated, and will need time to adjust to his new surroundings.

Todd Cantwell

Position: Midfielder

20/21 Points: 317.75

20/21 Points Per 90: 11

Recommended Draft Pick: 145-156 (12 Team League: Round 13)

Overview: Talented young English winger but struggled during the first half of 20/21 campaign, scored 6 goals in both of the last two seasons, a certain starter for Norwich but unlikely to produce big numbers.

There really aren't many fantasy options at Norwich as things stand. Todd Cantwell is the obvious third player to feature here; I wouldn't expect many Norwich players to be drafted outside of those mentioned in this article. Our Norwich City Sleepers article will give you a flavor for the more under the radar picks. But let's talk through the prospects of Cantwell. The young Norwich winger gained 241 points during the 19/20 campaign, scoring 6 goals and providing 2 assists. The Englishman's most famous goal was undoubtedly during the 3-2 victory over reigning champions Manchester City. Cantwell was the 33rd highest scoring midfielder, coming in at 14th for Successful Dribbles, 22nd for Shots on Target, and 28th for Key Passes.

For me, Cantwell had a pretty indifferent 20/21 season. He ended the campaign in the strongest XI, but at times during the first half of the season he was getting hooked at half-time, or not even making it off the bench. Cantwell ended up with 6 goals and 6 assists, as well as a total of 53 Successful Dribbles and 52 Key Passes. He'll certainly start the season as first choice for the Canaries, but I think he's a MID4 or MID5 at best. He gets hyped up because he's young, English, and has a bit of flair to his game, but realistically you'll find much better value in Fantrax elsewhere. Cantwell's PP90 of 11.1 from last season is encouraging, but I don't think he'll get near those number this year.

Max Aarons is the final Norwich player that most Premier League fans would have heard of. Last season he would have scored 390 points with 8.75 Points Per 90. Those are decent stats for the Championship, but he won't fair too well in the Premier League in my opinion. He'll perform slightly better than his 19/20 campaign where he gained 91.75 points from 36 games, but not by much if we're being realistic. Do not draft Aarons!!!
