West Ham United Best Fantasy Players

As noted above, these are the Best West Ham United Players for the Fantrax Fantasy EPL platform. We analyze the Hammers' top three prospects ahead of the new season, with an estimated draft pick for each player.

Michail Antonio

Position: Forward

20/21 Points: 289 (51st overall)

20/21 Points Per Start: 11.8

Recommended Draft Pick: 21-28 (12 Team League: Late Round 2/Early Round 3)

Overview: 15 attacking returns in 24 starts last season, explosive asset who is worthy of a high draft position, will miss games due to injuries.

I love Michail Antonio. Maybe its due to his bulging muscles. Maybe its because of his all-action displays as he spearheads West Ham's attack. Maybe its because he just scores well in Fantrax Fantasy EPL. Whatever the reason, its safe to say that the beast of a man is a luxury asset to own. Everyone knows that Antonio suffers with more than his fare share of injuries, but he's worth a high Draft Ranking due to his great points scoring potential. The Englishman was the 53rd best player in Fantrax last season, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists. Even though he only started 24 games. If we use Antonio's Points Per Start statistic, he was the 25th best player last season, averaging 11.8 PPS.

Antonio deserves your attention and a high draft spot due to his explosive nature. Sure, he'll miss a fair few games during the 21/22 season. But when he is fit and firing, he's likely to win you matchups.

Tomas Soucek

Position: Midfielder

20/21 Points: 388.5 (19th overall)

20/21 Points Per Start: 10.2

Recommended Draft Pick: 33-40 (12 Team League: Late Round 3/Early Round 4)

Overview: 19th highest scorer last season, 12 attacking returns, ranked 1st for aerials, really really solid box-to-box midfielder who often fills out the stats sheet.

Tomas Soucek arrived in East London in January 2020, and quickly became a really solid points scorer in Fantrax. The Czech midfielder gained 121 points in 13 games, which was just shy of 10 points per game! Soucek followed this up with an outstanding first full season in the Premier League. The giant midfielder was the 19th highest scoring player in the whole of Fantrax, and made appearances in several end of season award nominations! I expect more of the same this season.

Soucek is a box-to-box midfielder who scores well in both attacking and defensive statistics. During the 20/21 season he gained 12 attacking returns (10 goals, 2 assists), as well as being ranked 1st for Aerials (he won 234 of them!), 5th for Interceptions, and 16th for Tackles. Basically, he's got it all. I would look to draft Soucek towards the end of round 3 in a 12 team league. He's likely to be at least a Top 30 player this season.

Vladimir Coufal

Position: Defender

20/21 Points: 315.5 (35th overall)

20/21 Points Per Start: 9.3

Recommended Draft Pick: 61-72 (12 Team League: Round 6)

Overview: Exceptional first EPL season, great attacking instincts, really solid asset who I'd happily own as my DEF1.

Vladimir Coufal had an exceptional first season in the EPL. Signed from Slavia Prague for a minimal fee at the end of the summer transfer window, the Czech right-back went on to become the 35th highest scoring player! Coufal would have been available on waiver wires for the first couple of months of the season. Among the defenders, he ended up scoring 3rd highest for Assists, 4th for Accurate Crosses, 6th for Key Passes, 14th for Tackles, and 27th for Interceptions. Basically, he's got it all. I would happily draft him in Round 6 as my DEF1. He should be a Top 50 player once again.

Cresswell is also a great shout. He was the 41st highest overall scorer last season, putting on 11 Assists, and 58 Key Passes (the 4th most among the defenders!). I do marginally prefer Coufal, but Cresswell should offer very similar value throughout the season.

Honourable Mention

Jesse Lingard is also worth a mention here. The Englishman had an exceptional loan spell in East London last season, and I'm hoping he does join West Ham permanently. Over the course of the season, he should offer good value as a Round 5 or 6 pick in a 12 team league. Around 55th to 65th overall pick I would say.
