Brighton Sleepers
As noted above, these are potential Fantrax Sleepers from Brighton. These Fantasy EPL players are likely to be drafted in the later rounds. Read below for three under the radar players who could provide excellent value in your pre-season draft.
Tariq Lamptey
Position: Defender
20/21 Points: 79.25 (277th overall)
20/21 Points Per Start: 7.8
Recommended Draft Pick: 121 to 132 (12 Team League: Round 11)
Overview: Hasn't played since December, showed good form during 11 starts last season, worth a punt towards the end of the draft.
Another Brighton player who suffered with injuries last season is Tariq Lamptey. The young right-back showed really strong form at the start of the season during his 11 starts, but his last appearance under Potter came on December 16th. Lamptey will hopefully be back to full fitness for the start of the 21/22 season, although due to the form of Veltman during his absence, it remains to be seen how much he plays. I would like to think he gets back into the starting eleven and progresses well this season. An end of draft punt!
Danny Welbeck
Position: Forward
20/21 Points: 183.5 (134th overall)
20/21 Points Per Start: 10.1
Recommended Draft Pick: 121 to 132 (12 Team League: Round 11)
Overview: 10 attacking returns last season in only 24 games, good points per start ratio, fairly poor for ghost points, worth a punt towards the end of the draft.
I like Danny Welbeck for a punt towards the end of the draft. Round 11 or 12 sounds about right for the Englishman who is coming off a pretty successful first season with Brighton. The perennially injured forward found some really decent form during the second half of last season, and I fancy him to continue in a similar vein. Welbeck gained 10 attacking returns last year (6 goals, 4 assists) in just 24 games, and had a really strong Points Per Start of 10.1. The Englishman doesn't score amazingly well for Ghost Points (6.7 Ghost Points Per 90), but still worth a shot as your FWD3 or 4 if more exciting players have already left the draft board.
Enock Mwepu
Position: Midfielder
20/21 Points: N/A
20/21 Points Per Start: N/A
Recommended Draft Pick: 133-156 (12 Team League: Round 12 to 13 )
Overview: New signing from RB Salzburg for a reported £18m, should go straight into the Brighton side, has decent stats from last season.
Percentiles are compared to Premier League midfielders, bear in mind that the Austrian Bundesliga is a much lower standard.
Brighton have signed versatile midfielder Enock Mwepu from RB Salzberg for a reported £18 million. I do like him as an end of draft punt based on his stats from last season, as well as the fact that he comes form a club well respected for developing younger players. Mwepu is 23 years old and arrives in England off the back of a successful period in the Austrian Bundesliga. The Zambian midfielder's strengths lie in his tackling and interceptions on the defensive side of things, but he also has reasonable stats for dribbles and key passes. With Bissouma potentially leaving the South Coast, Mwepu could take on an important role in Potter's midfield from the off.
