Gameweek 12 Waiver Wire

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Wout Faes

Position: Defender

Team: Leicester

Rostered: 23%

Next Fixture: Leeds (Home)

Prospects: We're becoming big fans of Wout Faes here at TDS, after another double digit performance from the Leicester man in GW11. We featured him over in our Fantrax HQ Waiver article last week, and we're going back for more ahead of a home fixture against Leeds. The Belgian has gained 37 points during his last three games, and another haul could be coming in GW12. Some of you may be allergic to rostering players named Wout after a bad experience with a certain Weghorst last season, but the Faes kind looks to be worth it! He's projected to score 9.7 points as per our Weekly Points Projections, and Leicester defenders have the 5th best fixture this week as per our Fixture Difficulty Tracker. Expect the rostership of this chap to increase over the coming weeks.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 2-3 FAB to get him.

Joe Gomez

Position: Defender

Team: Liverpool

Rostered: 40%

Next Fixture: West Ham (Home)

Prospects: Joe Gomez is the outstanding waiver claim this week, after a great performance against Manchester City at the weekend. Despite Matip and Konate being out injured, many a Fantrax manager ignored Gomez for the City fixture even though he was guaranteed to start. A wise decision on paper, but in reality the Englishman bagged 11.5 points during a Liverpool defensive revival and looks set to continue in the side next to Van Dijk for the next few games. Liverpool face West Ham this week, and Gomez also features in our Gameweek 12 Sleepers XI. Bringing him in would be a very wise move.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 3-5 FAB to get him.

Samuel Edozie

Position: Forward

Team: Southampton

Rostered: 1%

Next Fixture: Bournemouth (Away)

Prospects: And speaking of our Gameweek 12 Sleepers XI; in a similar vein to Gavin punting on Sekou Mara, we're taking a chance on fellow Saints forward Samuel Edozie. If your league settings allow for live lineup changes, then Edozie could be worth a punt on waivers. The 19 year-old Manchester City academy graduate is yet to start in the EPL, but he has been making a good impression from the bench in recent games. Hassenhutl is likely to rotate for the midweek fixture against Bournemouth, and Edozie could be the one to partner Che Adams in attack.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Nelson Semedo

Position: Defender

Team: Wolves

Rostered: 13%

Next Fixture: Crystal Palace (Away)

Prospects: Nelson Semedo completes a hat-trick of players who feature both in this article and our GW12 Sleepers article. We're not copying Gavin's article, honest. Think of it as yet more positive confirmation that these are good players to pick-up ahead of the midweek matches! Wolves did keep a clean sheet against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, but we would expect Semedo to come in for either Jonny or Ait-Nouri to freshen things up. Palace aren't the most potent of EPL sides, with just 10 goals scored in their 9 games so far. There's a decent chance of Wolves keeping a clean sheet, and Semedo does sometimes score ok for ghost points. Wolves play in an early fixture this week, so if the Portuguese defender doesn't start, move across to a returning Nathan Collins, Cooper, or Salisu.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-1 FAB to get him.
