Gameweek 28 Waiver Wire
Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These are the low rostered players who could perform very well over the upcoming period!
The following teams have double gameweek in GW28:
Aston Villa: SOU, lee
Leeds: lei, AVL
Newcastle: BHA, sou
Southampton: avl, NEW
Watford: ARS, wol
Wolves: CRY, WAT
Chelsea: bur, nor (TBC)
Norwich: BRF, CHE (TBC)
Luke Ayling/Diego Llorente
Position: Defender
Team: Leeds
Rostered: 37/6%
Next Fixture: LEI (A), AVL (H)
Prospects: Gone are the gung-ho days of Bielsa at Leeds and regardless of who is tasked with saving them from relegation, their first job will be to organise and shore up that defence. There are very talented players (and some less so...looking at you Junior) at the new manager's disposal so I expect an immediate uptick in form for the Leeds defence. Leicester and Villa who have been far from prolific could provide the springboard for a new manager bounce. Admittedly, this is a risky play and more in the streamer category, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, am I right?
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-1% of my FAB on either of the Leeds lads.
Ryan Fraser
Position: Midfielder
Team: Newcastle
Rostered: 20%
Next Fixture: BHA (H), SOU (A)
Prospects: He is back and he is a Key Pass machine!! In recent weeks, Fraser has looked liked the MID1 on Bouurnemoth we have longed for since putting pen to paper on his Newcastle contract. Eddie Howe's system has really started to click and more focus on Fraser since ASM's injury has made him a points magnet recently. A Tasty double with points close to 30 await!
Verdict: I would use a high-end waiver claim or 10% of my FAB on Fraser.
Bruno Guimaraes
Position: Midfielder
Team: Newcastle
Rostered: 37%
Next Fixture: BHA (H), SOU (A)
Prospects: Another Newcastle midfielder who has surely been frustrating his managers since his arrival in the league. Touted as a marquee signing by us among others, Bruno has failed to crack the first team since his arrival. When questioned, Howe vowed that the Brazilian will see plenty of action in the coming weeks and kudos to Howe for resisting tinkering and staying with the hot hand. That said, after what feels like an infinite number of sub appearances I am going out on a limb and saying he is getting 2 starts and 160+ minutes in the upcoming double.
Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver claim or 5-8% of my FAB on Bruno.
Rodrigo
Position: Forward
Team: Leeds
Rostered: 48%
Next Fixtures: LEI (A), AVL (H)
Prospects: I have slightly bent the rule of under 40% rostered so that I can include Rodrigo, but I suspect he has been dropped in many active leagues due to him being dropped IRL last weekend. Just like for the defenders mentioned above, Rodrigo could be the major beneficiary of the change in managers at Leeds. Bielsa has been struggling to find the perfect spot/role for their record signing since he arrived and a more traditional style and a clearer attacking role could help Rodrigo flourish under new management.
Verdict: I would use a high-end waiver claim or 5-8% of my FAB on Rodrigo.
