Gameweek 5 Waiver Wire

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Renan Lodi

Position: Defender

Team: Nottingham Forest

Rostered: 0%

Next 3 Fixtures: MCI (A), BOU (H), LEE (A)

Prospects: Lodi comes in as the 18th new signing for Forest this off-season and is likely to be the first choice left wing-back there. With this many new signings, there are always huge question marks around how players will settle in, how systems will work, etc. That said, Lodi comes in with great pedigree. The 24-year-old Brazilian has already been capped for his country, he is a La Liga winner, and scored in the Champions League. According to our historical data, he averages around 9 pp90, most of which are ghost points. In matches where Forest have a chance at a result and don't concede a lot, he will be a great asset.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver claim or 3-5 FAB to get him

Enock Mwepu

Position: Midfielder

Team: Brighton

Rostered: 8%

Next 3 Fixtures: FUL (A), LEI (H), BOU (A)

Prospects: I have been a great fan of Enock Mwepu since he came to the Premier League. Unfortunately, he has been getting the Potter treatment at Brighton since his arrival, having very impressive spot-starts but nothing to suggest that he would become a regular. Lallana's injury and the fact that Mwepu is one of the very few players to have made a sub appearance in all 4 of the matches so far bodes well for a start for him in the next few game weeks. Those who pick him up and enjoy the rewards will be hoping he can cement his spot in the lineup.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0 FAB to get him.

Patson Daka

Position: Forward

Team: Leicester City

Rostered: 19%

Next 3 Fixtures: MUN (H), BHA (A), AVL (H)

Prospects: Leicester have been pretty bad in the first few weeks, with all kinds of unwanted turmoil making their start to the season very difficult. Vardy has been especially isolated and barren so it would not be a surprise to see Rodgers shake up the front line. Daka has come on 3 times this season already, which is a good sign, but this one is firmly in the punt territory as he is not guaranteed a start and has been inconsistent even when he has been included from the start.

Verdict: I would use a low-end claim or 0 FAB to get him.

Aleksander Isak

Position: Forward

Team: Newcastle

Rostered: 0%

Next 3 Fixtures: LIV (A), CRY (H), WHU (A)

Prospects: Isak looks like one of the marquee signings of this window. An exciting young prospect mentioned on similar levels to Haaland and Mbappé at certain points of his short career, the Swedish wunderkind comes into a situation at Newcastle that is ideal for both his style and his development. Howe's attacking system looks to get the most out of players who can run at defenses, dribble and carry the ball, and Isak is great at that. He can play any position in the forward line and if he can improve his aerial ability, which has been his weak point despite his physical presence, he will be something special. He had an off year last season production-wise, but the season before should be a blueprint for his fantasy expectation as Real Sociedad were really struggling for attacking returns last season as a whole.

Verdict: I would use the first waiver priority on him or 100% of your FAB.
