Gameweek 8 Waiver Wire

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 40% ownership or below on Fantrax.  These are the low ownership players who could perform very well over the upcoming period!

Scott McTominay

Position: Midfielder

Team: Manchester United

Rostered: 19%

Next 3 Fixtures: Lei (A), LIV (H), tot (A)

Prospects: McTominay is looking like he will have a solid floor of 4-6 points every week, making him a very valuable MID5. With the horrible performances of Fred this season, I would back McTominay to keep his place in the XI for the foreseeable future. McTominay also offers a little bit of upside due to his threat from set pieces, and ability to score from anywhere on the pitch. If you are in need for an every week starter with a floor, McTominay could be the guy.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver claim or about 0-3% of my FAB on McTominay.

Giovani Lo Celso

Position: Midfielder

Team: Tottenham

Rostered: 8%

Next 3 Fixtures: new (A), whu (A), MUN (H)

Prospects: This pickup would be a bit of a punt. Lo Celso looks better with each appearance he gets for Spurs, and could be very close to getting a chance in the XI in the upcoming games. Dele and Ndombele haven't really impressed this season, and if Nuno sticks with the 4-2-3-1, Lo Celso could get a chance at the #10 slot. He will also get his fair share of set pieces, giving him a decent floor. He is worth a punt as your MID5 if you have a few other guaranteed starters.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver claim or about 0-3% of my FAB on Lo Celso.

Joao Pedro

Position: Forward

Team: Watford

Rostered: 9%

Next 3 Fixtures: LIV (H), eve (A), SOU (H)

Prospects: With the recent departure of their manager, Watford could be in for a new manager bounce, and star boy Pedro could see himself back in the XI. They have a tough game against an in-form Liverpool team, but Pedro is still worth a punt to hold on your bench. If Pedro gets a run in the XI he could offer FWD3 value. Even with depth at forward this season, he is worth a hold as your 4th forward due to his upside, especially if Watford finally start to live up to their attacking potential.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver claim or about 2-5% of my FAB on Pedro.

Junior Firpo

Position: Defender

Team: Leeds

Rostered: 35%

Next 5 Fixtures: sou (A), WOL (H), nor (A)

Prospects: Firpo had a great showing in the win vs. Watford, and could see a few more decent scores in the next month. Coming up against a Saints team missing their midfield star, Leeds could get another clean sheet. Firpo has been very inconsistent this season, and you never know if he will get you 15 or -6, but he is worth a punt with Leeds' upcoming schedule and he offers upside based on how far forward he gets in games.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver claim or about 3-7% of my FAB on Firpo.
