Waiver Wire Gameweek 10

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 10 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Vitalii Mykolenko (Ros 28%)

Prospects: Since returning from injury, Mykolenko scored 18.5 ghost points over the past 2 gameweeks, the most of all Everton outfielders in that period. In fact, in the Ukranian's last 3 appearances, he's scored 7, 7.75 and 10.75 ghost points in each game, so it comes as no surprise that Mykolenko boasts the best ghost points per 90 minutes (10.8) of all Everton assets for the season so far. Although the Merseyside club have only kept 2 clean sheets, they have both come in the last 3 games, so Everton's improved defensive solidity combined with Mykolenko's ghosting should comfortably qualify him as a safe DEF-3 pick. Additionally, with Branthwaite returning from injury, who is arguably the Toffee's best defender, you'd expect Everton to keep a few more clean sheets, especially against bottom-of-the-league Southampton in Gameweek 10. This could almost qualifies Mykolenko as a DEF-2 and a great pick for the foreseeable future.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 2-4 FAB to get him.

Ryan Yates (Ros 13%)

Prospects: According to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, over the next 2 gameweeks, Forest MIDs have the 2nd best set of fixtures with back-to-back home fixtures versus West Ham and Newcastle. Since GW6 Ryan Yates seems to have finally nailed his spot in the starting XI, having started and completed the full 90mins in every game since then. He has surely benefitted from the absence of Morgan Gibbs-White as well as the poor form of James Ward-Prowse. But that being said, Yates has averaged 10.6 FP/G (since GW6), while scoring 1 goal, registering the 2nd most key passes (6) and being 1st for interceptions (9) and 2nd for aerials (12), compared to his teammates. We'd expect Yates to retain his starting role until the aforementioned players return from injury or return to form. So this makes Yates a dependable MID-4/5 if you need one.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Trevoh Chalobah (Ros 6%)

Prospects: Crystal Palace have finally gotten their first win of the season and there was no surprise that it came against Spurs. Come on Lads, its Tottenham. This 1-0 win was also Crystal Palace's 2nd clean sheet of the season, with the first one coming against Manchester United. The Eagles now face a resurgent Wolves in Gameweek 10, so the clean sheet might not be guaranteed. In spite of this, Chalobah still seems to be scoring well despite the shut-outs. Since his first start in Gameweek 7, Chalobah has averaged just over 9 ghost points per game, which is only behind Muñoz and Eze. So if you need a dependable DEF-3 this week, choose Chalobah.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Will Hughes (Ros 1%)

Prospects: Crystal Palace have had a very inconsistent setup throughout their season so far. There have been lots of changes across the starting XI and Will Hughes has definitely been a subject of that rotation. After only his 3rd start of the season in Gameweek 8 versus Nottingham Forest, Hughes was back on the bench versus Spurs in Gameweek 9 but was then called upon to play majority of the game after Lerma got injured and had to be replaced. Despite the sub on, Hughes managed to rack up 4 key passes versus Spurs, the same number he registered versus Nottingham Forest as well. Both games also saw him score nearly 13 ghost points! These scores are quite promising and could be useful as a MID-4 for any roster, but given that there's always a risk that Hughes gets benched again, I would not be bursting the bank to get him.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

George Hirst (Ros 2%)

Prospects: After 9 consecutive starts to the season, Liam Delap was finally benched. This meant that Hirst finally got to start his first game of the season for the Tractor Boys - and what a debut it was. In 72 minutes, Hirst scored his first goal of the campaign, and provided his first assist, as he helped Ipswich Town put up an early 2-0 lead versus Brentford. On top of the attacking returns, Hirst also managed to score 7.25 ghosts points, which included a shot on target, and a couple of key passes and aerials. Hirst could be a great acquisition for Gameweek 10 as Ipswich Town host Leicester City in a classic 6-pointer affair. Both promoted teams will be vying for nothing less than a win, which could also be Ipswich's first win of the season. It should come as no surprise that playing Leicester at home ranks first for FWDs in our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, so Hirst can be an easy stash and start FWD-3 for any roster.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.

Nelson Semedo (Ros 8%)

Prospects: As mentioned on the GW9 KPC stream, Nelson Semedo was tipped as a possible DEF-3 option - and he did not disappoint! Despite conceding 2 goals, Semedo scored 14 FPts in Gameweek 9, which was nearly a full-house of ghost point categories, only missing out in the accurate cross column. This haul included a gameweek high of 12 clearances, as well as 3 tackles and 3 aerials. It should also be noted that Semedo now has 2 assists in his last 3 games and Wolves are now about to embark on one of the best fixture runs of the season, after such a brutal start to their campaign. Over the next 2 gameweeks, Wolves have the best fixtures for defenders in the league as they have back-to-back home games versus fellow strugglers Crystal Palace and Southampton, both of which are tied for the fewest goals scored in the league (6). There's a great chance for returns on either end of the pitch with Semedo and could be worth a few quid if you can spare it.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.
