This article will focus on trade advice that highlights players that are either worth trading in on a low, or trading out on a high. This could involve players who could see their minutes reduced, have a purple patch come to an end, or on the flip side involve players who might be starting to heat up. This article will also feature advice and strategy tips from our very own Draft Genie, and his interesting style of playing the game.

Fantasy EPL hints and tips

Players To Trade-In

This section will focus on players to target in your trade offers. Usually there are two types of players to trade-in. The ones you "buy low" on, who may be in a poor patch of form, injured, or not seeing consistent minutes with all that about to change. The second is where you "buy high". While that will sound contradictory, these players could be showing no signs of slowing down and are en-route to a breakout season. You want to try and trade-in these players before they become unattainable, even if it involves offering more than what their draft-day or early-season value was.

Youri Tielemans (AVL - MID)

Analysis: Tielemans has truly been a fantasy revelation this season, averaging 10.5 PPS, his best since his 18-19 season with Leicester. Over the weekend he still managed double digit ghosts despite missing a penalty. The thing about this game, the littlest thing will go wrong and managers will go sour on that player. Despite the ghosting performance and Tielemans performing closer to a MID1 than he ever has, many managers could be open to trading him out, maybe thinking he has lost penalties, or even a crazier thought he loses his spot?? Tielemans is averaging 9.3 ghosts per start, and doesn't look to be slowing down any time soon. He has also shown to be fixture proof with his lowest scores shockingly being against Ipswich and Leicester.

Tielemans is as set and forget as they will come outside the elite few midfielder, and is the must bring in of this week. Bringing him in won't be easy, but again managers may be open to shifting him for a more "name value" asset that just isn't performing. While he may not have the ceiling of a first rounder, don't be surprised to see Youri finish as a top 10 midfielder this season.

Trade Offer Value: Some higher value names I would look to start out with could include: Bernardo Silva, Tavernier, Garnacho, and Szobo. I am sure the upside of these players will have a manger thinking.

Luke Shaw (MUN - DEF)

Analysis: This is a trade in not for the feint of heart. As we saw with my recent Reece recommendation these trades could go south very fast, but I still enjoy taking a risk, and Shaw is next up. Shaw is finally back from quite a long injury layoff after the Euros. This weekend he got his first competitive minutes, and he has every chance to be a key member in Amorim's system. Shaw is one of the most versatile defenders on the United team, and could play both LCB and LWB. The only issue with Shaw is his injury record. Due to that borderline career ending leg-break years ago, Shaw will never be able to get through a full-season without suffering some sort of muscular issue. Shaw is fit for now, and of course if he can stay fit till at least January he could be a great buy. Given the fact he is only 60% rostered, you could have a chance to grab him from your waiver wire, and if so please do.

Shaw has shown a more willingness to get forward and overlap than any other United fullback, and that is including from a LCB position. While it may take another game for Shaw to start (unless Martinez and Yoro aren't fit), he should be a solid DEF2 when in the XI.

Trade Offer Value: I would offer out 10 FAB as an opener for Shaw. It will tempt some managers. If they want a player than assets such as: Lindstrom, Guehi, Tete, Milenkovic, and Branthwaite are good offers that will more than likely be accepted.

Players To Trade-OUT

This section will focus on players that you should be actively trying to trade out over the next week or so. These players could be on course to see a minute reduction or be having a bad season that it seems they can't recover from. A lot of times name value players will feature here, as you will still find managers who believe they can return to their glory days. Each season brings new challenges and as we have seen even the very best assets can fall off a cliff in just a single season (Rashford of 2024). Look to trade out these players before their value becomes so low that you may need to consider dropping them.

Dominik Szoboszlai (LIV - MID)

Analysis: Szoboszlai is coming off a season high score of 27 against...you guessed it...Southampton. While Szobo finally showed signs of life, I really don't expect this to continue. Southampton are bottom of the table and most likely getting relegated with 10 losses in 12 games. Before this game, Szobo's last double digit outing was gameweek 3 vs. United in that 3-0 win. Szobo has shown he is very inconsistent in fantasy and on the pitch with Slot not afraid to both bench him, and bring him off early. While I think Szobo could slightly improve, now may be your best time to "sell high" on the Liverpool mid.

Szobo as nearly every other Liverpool attacker could easily be rotated out depending on the form of himself and those around him. With Elliott, Jones, and even Mac Allister in the mix we could see some changes especially with Europe starting up again. While I wouldn't look to get back top 30 value for Szobo you can probably bring back in a more secure ROS asset.

Trade Offer Value: If you can somehow get Tielemans for Szobo I would make that trade all day. Other targets could include: Damsgaard, Amad, or Iwobi if you can package Szobo with a chunk of FAB or a MID4.

Ismaila Sarr (CRY - FWD)

Analysis: Sarr is another sell high. He had himself a gameweek with 25 points and a goal and assist. Eze and Nketiah could come back into the mix soon which would throw Sarr's playtime into question. As well, Palace are just not that good this year. They sit in the relegation zone, and are about to enter a pretty tough next 5-6 games. Palace attack could take a hit during this stretch that includes games vs. City and Arsenal, as well Sarr's usage will significantly decrease once Eze is back into the XI.

Sarr was someone who was way over-drafted this summer, with managers taking him as high as the 6th round. He was rightfully dropped and picked up numerous times, but now is the best time to try and get some real value for him, before he potentially becomes a drop again. Sarr could continue in the XI, but again when Eze returns I expect his usage to go down.

Trade Offer Value: I would offer out Sarr for a more secure FWD3. You can package Sarr with 10 FAB or defenders like Branthwaite, Semedo, or Fofana to get back a FWD3 like: Hudson-Odoi, Calvert-Lewin, Ndiaye, or even aiming as high as Strand-Larsen.
