Waiver Wire Gameweek 14
Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Gameweek 14 Waiver Wire targets that are 40% rostered (Ros) or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!
Mason Mount (Ros 25%)
Prospects: I expected the start to come against Everton after the Cunha injury, but we ended up getting it this week versus Palace in United’s comeback win, where Mount scored from a clever short free-kick routine laid off by Bruno. Palace are a tough side to break down, so I’m willing to give his overall score outside the goal some benefit of the doubt. I do think he’ll get another start in the midweek match against West Ham given the result. There’s still a chance he’s rested for Cunha, though, so it’s wise to have cover for Thursday’s late fixture. United’s schedule is favorable overall, and if Mount can take advantage of this window, with Mbeumo and Amad heading to AFCON soon, we might be looking at a solid, upside MID option for the foreseeable future.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him
Amine Adli (Ros 10%)
Prospects: There’s plenty of competition for attacking spots at the Cherries right now, but Adli made good use of his opportunity this weekend, notching a goal and finishing just shy of 16 points. A leaky Everton side is up next, which would be a great follow-up for the Moroccan if he keeps his place, as he looked lively on the wing against Sunderland. He’s an easy drop in Tuesday’s early fixture if he doesn’t start. Note that he will be going to AFCON in a couple weeks.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him
Joshua Zirkzee (Ros 15%)
Prospects: I’m not incredibly high on Zirkzee, as I do think he’s the one who’ll make way for the returning Cunha this midweek or coming weekend. That said, his recent scores, nearly 12 against Everton (where a brilliant Pickford stop denied him a headed goal) and 18 with a goal versus Palace this past gameweek, show some promise as a streaming candidate. I could see him getting benched midweek but starting again against Wolves next weekend (or vice versa). If your gamble pays off and he keeps some form of starting role, he, like Mount and the rest of United, faces a congested but favorable schedule ahead. He could be a decent hold as Šeško returns and United’s AFCON crew heads out. That said, I’m not spending big and he's decently likely to get sold in January if United buy further attacking re-enforcements.
