Waiver Wire Gameweek 18

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 18 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Benoit Badiashile (Ros 34%)

Prospects: Badiashile was reintroduced into the Chelsea starting XI in Gameweek 13 and has started 4 of the last 5 gameweeks for The Blues. During his 4 appearances, Badiashile has shown promising signs in ghost point production - averaging just over 7 ghost points per game. Chelsea conceded 8 goals across this period, but those are promising signs. Badiashile has also displayed his ability to score points on both ends of the pitch, having registered a clean sheet in Gameweek 17 and an assist in Gameweek 14. Chelsea arguably have one of the best fixture runs for the next 4 gameweeks, which is actually 2nd best for all defenders during this timeframe according to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, which makes Badiashile a great grab for GW18 and a hold for at least the next few GWs.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Neco Williams (Ros 13%)

Prospects: Neco Williams has broken back into the Nottingham Forest squad with consecutive 90-minute appearances. In Gameweek 16, Williams registered 18 FPts along with his first attacking return for the season, despite no clean sheet. The Welshman's fantasy output is also buoyed by the fact that Steve Cooper has recently switched Forest's system from a back-4 to a back-3, which allows Williams the freedom to get further forward on the pitch. Therefore, there's a safe assumption that Williams should be able to achieve additional attacking returns, which nearly happened again during Gameweek 17 when his assist was chalked off by VAR. He also had a late attempt on goal in stoppage time and ended up amassing an xG of 0.13. Williams made up for the lack of attacking returns by registering 8.75 ghost points versus Spurs. According to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, Nottingham Forest defenders have the 2nd best fixture for all defenders in Gameweek 18.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Tosin Adarabioyo (Ros 20%)

Prospects: Adarabioyo was an absolute ghost point machine during the 2022/23 season. He has come in for the injured Tim Ream and has played 90 minutes in three consecutive games. During his appearances, Adarabioyo kept 2 clean sheets in back-to-back 5-0 wins for Fulham, where he also registered his first attacking return versus West Ham. He and the Cottagers had a rough day at Newcastle after Jimenez was sent off but our Fixture Difficulty Tracker suggests that Fulham defenders have the 3rd best fixture this GW. They host relegation candidates Burnley, who have have only scored 16 goals this season - the 2nd lowest total of all teams in the league this season.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Tom Cairney (Ros 19%)

Prospects: Fulham's captain has finally started to nail a spot in the starting XI again. For the first time this season, Cairney has started consecutive fixtures, from Gameweek 14 to 16. During this period, Cairney delivered 1G & 1A along with an average of 7 ghost points per game. The Cottagers welcome lowly Burnley, who sit 19th in the Premier League table. Fulham will surely look to bounce back to winning ways after consecutive 5-0 wins gave way to a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United. If you need further convincing, our Fixture Difficulty Tracker has Fulham midfielders with the 3rd best fixture in Gameweek 18.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Carlos Vinicius (Ros 7%)

Prospects: Although Raul Jimenez has been on terrific form for Fulham, his straight red card versus Newcastle United in Gameweek 17 means that he will be missing the next 3 gameweeks for The Cottagers. Therefore, Vinicius should easily attain the starting striker position for Fulham. Vinicius hasn't completed 90 minutes in any of his appearances this season, but he has been able to score 2 goals in his limited time on the pitch. In the last 4 gameweeks, Fulham have scored the most goals (13) and should be able to continue this trend against Burnley, who have conceded the 2nd most number of goals (36) this season. This campaign has taught us that Burnley are an easy target for Fantrax FPts. Our Fixture Difficulty Tracker also has Fulham forwards as the best fixture rating for all forwards this GW.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
