Waiver Wire Gameweek 21
Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 21 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!
Jacob Greaves (Ros 9%)
Prospects: Greaves is quickly becoming a ghost point legend among managers in competitive leagues. He has a very commendable 8.5 ghost points per game for the season but boasts a frankly ridiculous 9.7 gPPS form in the last 3 games. Since his return to the starting XI after his injury, his worst score is the 8.5 he got in the 2-2 draw against Fulham. I personally will have zero qualms about starting him against Brighton and nor should you. Aerials, Clearances and Interceptions make up most of his ghost point floor. He should continue to collect bundles of those defensive stats in the upcoming fixtures as Ipswich look to avoid the drop.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.
Yasin Ayari (Ros 9%)
Prospects: Ayari has featured several times here already, so I won't rehash old accolades. He is as solid as you can get from a midfield fantasy anchor. If starting, he will bank you 7 points easily, but rarely venture into the high double digits. He offers limited (none) attacking upside, so his fantasy ceiling or lack thereof will almost guarantee that he will be found on waiver wires most weeks. Pick him up if you are light on midfielders.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
Crysencio Summerville (Ros 28%)
Prospects: One of 2 former Leeds attackers to feature in today's article, Summerville had a lively (11.5) game against City. In the absence of Bowen, he should finally get a good run of starts to prove that he is in fact good enough for the EPL. If so, he can offer FWD2-3. value Ideally, he will get to do that in a more attacking system under someone like Graham Potter as we are hopefully entering #thelastdaysofJulen. Summerville is a good speculative add in the hopes of a very much overdue managerial change in East London as he should have a pivotal role in a more attacking system under a new manager.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.
Harry Maguire (Ros 20%)
Prospects: It's the Slabhead Rennaissance! Maguire is back in the starting XI under Amorim and he is back to scoring ghost points. If only United could start keeping clean sheets, he could finally have a chance at a double-digit return. His last and so far only one came in GW1 in the lucky 1-0 win against Fulham. Scores of 7.75, 5.5, 9.5 in matches United conceded at least 2 goals in are (not Greaves level, but) decent numbers. With Southampton up next and an aerial battle with Big Paul Onuachu, Mags could finally see double again.
Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 3-5 FAB to get him.
Jan-Paul van Hecke (Ros 34%)
Prospects: JPVH has not been a big ghoster before but he has developed a feel for the ghosties this season. He is by no means in conversations with Greaves the Great, but a 7.3 gPPS is still pretty decent, especially when you are facing Ipswich, Man United, and Everton in the next 3 games. I wouldn't move mountains to get him in, but he has emerged as a solid last-minute stream option if you are in a pinch.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.
Georgino Rutter (Ros 31%)
Prospects: Brighton have struggled somewhat lately and after a great start to the season from Rutter, he himself has faded away in the last few months. So much so that his last start came before Christmas. His team has only managed 3 goals in the subsequent 3 games, so I am expecting a recall for the former Leeds striker soon. And with an easier run coming up, it is worth gambling on him adding some much-needed attacking verve to the lacklustre Brighton front line.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.
