Waiver Wire Gameweek 23
Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 23 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!
Matty Cash (Ros 28%)
Prospects: The Anglo-named Pole full-back is on somewhat of a renaissance lately putting in 9+ scores in the last 3 games. Leicester and Everton were expected to be easier fixtures, but 9.75 against Arsenal is an unexpectedly great score, albeit propped up by an assist. While Emery's players are usually considered to be less able to get regular ghost points, the upcoming fixtures for Villa look great for defenders, especially for those, who like to get involved in the attack too.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.
Bilal El Khannouss (Ros 15%)
Prospects: The Canoe, as we lovingly refer to him on the Key Pass Collective has been a mainstay in the Leicester first team under RvN, but I am not sure that is a compliment considering the run they have been on. The attacking midfielder has been a vital part of the team going forward and has been ghosting decently enough to warrant consideration against weaker opposition in the hope that he nicks a return to bring his score into double digits. Weaker opposition, you say? Maybe a team that has just conceded 3 against Everton will tickle your fancy? Yessir! Start your attackers against Spurs as they are rooted to the relegation spots on the form table.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
David Brooks (Ros 8%)
Prospects: Bournemouth made light work of one of the in-form teams of the division as they dismantled Newcastle last weekend at St. James' Park. Brooks has established himself in the makeshift attack for the South-coast outfit and had a season-high 18.75 points in the game (ALL GHOSTS!!) to continue a series of impressive performances. 4 KPs and 3 SOTs contributed to the bulk of that incredible score and although on paper the next 2 games seem like difficult ones, you can always count on the Cherries to pepper their opponents with shots making their attackers must start against anyone.
Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 3-5 FAB to get him.
Jota Silva (Ros 1%)
Prospects: Hudson-Odoi came off with a niggle on Sunday which could be an opportunity for Jota Silva to make the most of a rare starting spot. We are especially excited about his prospects as Forest have been extremely efficient going forward and most of the attacking players have been involved in getting attacking returns. Away at Bournemouth is not an easy game for attackers, but Forest's form means that even in more difficult games surprise attacking starters could prove to be top waiver adds.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.
Jesper Lindstrom (Ros 7%)
Prospects: What an unbelievable performance the Dane had against Spurs!! A crowd well known for being vocal in their disapproval of their own team and players stood up and cheered as one after an all-action performance from Lindstrom ended with a late sub. In real life performances are one thing, you are here to read this article for draft fantasy purposes. Let me tell you, this one was one for the ages. 22 ghost points in 69 minutes has the potential to be an all-timer. With that performance, he has earned the right-wing spot for the foreseeable future which includes games against Brighton and Leicester in the upcoming GW. Imagine if he could add some returns to this ghosting ability!
Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 5-6 FAB to get him.
Richarlison (Ros 27%)
Prospects: It is with heavy hands, that we are writing this, but Solanke's injury and Leicester's inability to defend to a Premier League level mean that Richarlison, if starting, becomes a viable streamer this weekend. I know. We feel dirty just writing it, but we don't make the rules. If there is upside to be had, we will consider any players. That is about all the good things we could muster. Spurs are in horrible form, Richarlison hasn't started in ages, he usually doesn't ghost at all, but if you are stuck at forward... You might consider him.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.
