Waiver Wire Gameweek 23

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Gameweek 23 Waiver Wire targets that are 40% rostered (ROS) or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Jaydee Canvot (Ros 1%)

Prospects: With Guehi off to City, the question was who would claim the third spot in Palace’s back line, and to my surprise, it wasn’t the obvious choice. Palace are a major question mark right now on several fronts, but I do think Canvot is a reasonable punt to re-enter the XI, especially with potential changes around both management and personnel. Their upcoming schedule is very favorable, and hopefully something can steady the ship as we move into the latter part of the fantasy season. Canvot has already shown that when he’s given a start, he can be a serviceable fantasy option.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him

Crysencio Summerville (Ros 23%)

Prospects: Well, well, well, Crysencio. Ready to disappoint fantasy managers yet again? After a solid ghost-point outing against Forest, where he posted 9 points and took three corners, followed by an FA Cup appearance in which he grabbed a goal and an assist, Summerville rewarded punters in the fixture versus Spurs. He exploded for 21 fantasy points thanks to a goal and set-piece involvement, reminding us why managers keep getting tempted back. I’m still unsure about his long-term outlook, but with fixtures against Sunderland and Burnley on the horizon, he may be more than just a one-week streamer. You can't play Spurs and Forest every week though!

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him

Yves Bissouma (Ros 0%)

Prospects: Call it game state or whatever you want, but Bissouma returned to the pitch for the first time this season following his AFCON campaign with Mali. He posted 8 ghost points in just 45 minutes during the home loss to West Ham, which immediately caught the eye. I know what you’re thinking, but this may be the only week to punt on Bissouma. Spurs face Burnley next before heading into an insanely difficult run of fixtures. And they're seriously depleted in central midfield with a long term injury for Bentancur, knocks to Xavi and Gray, and illness/an AFCON return for Sarr. This could also be Frank’s final match unless Spurs get a result, so why not take the gamble? If it doesn’t work, it’s an easy drop with no long-term commitment.
