Waiver Wire Gameweek 26

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 26 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Djed Spence (Ros 28%)

Prospects: When Conte was still in charge at Spurs, Spence was one of the most random signings that Spurs seemed to have made during that time, especially off the back of a successful spell with Nottingham Forest and playing a vital role in their promotion back to the Premier League. However after 2 seasons of various loan spells across Europe, the English DEF has finally started to play games for Spurs. Spence has now started 8 games since GW16 and currently boasts the best gPPS (10.7) for any Spurs outfielder. Spurs have truly had a terrible season so far but we're chalking that down to their multiple injuries across the team. Ange is slowly starting to get his first choice players fit again, so there's a chance that they finally turn a corner in their season. The North London club will surely be aiming to be back into the top half of the league table again. It should be noted that in the last 6 league games, Ipswich have only scored 5 goals, only bettering Leicester City and Wolves. So there's a decent chance Spurs can get their 3rd clean sheet in a row.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.

Casemiro (Ros 28%)

Prospects: Manchester United are another club in turmoil at the moment. Not only is their league form one of the worst in the leagues - currently sat 17th over the last 12 games - but they have also been plagued with injuries, their most recent one being wonderkid Amad Diallo. However, that has somehow opened up a possible avenue to minutes for Casemiro. Casemiro's 11.5 FPts in GW25 - which included a yellow card - saw him roll back the years as he put up a massive ghost point game versus Spurs. However we've also noticed that most assets tend to do well against Spurs, so this could potentially be a one-off performance. That being said, Amorim could use the experience of Casemiro on the pitch as Man United try to navigate the rest of their season. He would be a tidy MID-4/5 option if you're lacking options at the moment, especially one with the potential upside of a goal.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.

Mikel Merino (Ros 33%)

Prospects: Why are so many people getting injured this season? Arsenal have probably been hit the hardest this season in terms of the number of first team players that have missed action this season. It's mental to think that they lined up on the weekend against Leicester with a front-3 of Sterling, Nwaneri and Trossard, who also struggled to break down the Foxes defence. To be fair, Sterling was pretty atrocious that game so it makes complete sense why he was hauled off for Merino's debut as Arsenal's No. 9. In the post match interview, Merino mentioned they didn't even try it in training but his 2 clinical finishes in front of net said otherwise. Merino's 14.4 PP90 is the 3rd best for all Arsenal assets this season and although his 7.3 gPPS isn't the greatest, you're getting him to score the goals that Arsenal need as they continue to challenge Liverpool for the title. Could a short-lived experiment turn into a ROS solution for Arteta? Quite possibly, especially with Kai Havertz ruled out for the remainder of the Gunners' campaign.

Verdict:  I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 5-7 FAB to get him.

Patrick Dorgu (Ros 40%)

Prospects: Not all is grey at the Theatre of Dreams, as Manchester United seems to have possibly found a new young gem in their ranks with their new signing Dorgu. He was primarily signed to be the Red Devils' new left wingback but in his first ever game under Amorim, he was deployed as a right wingback in their 2-1 FA cup win over Leicester. Dorgu had a promising debut showing his defensive capabilities, attacking potential and tactical flexibility, which can only mean that he must be a nailed option for Amorim moving forward. In his first league game, he put up 11.25 ghost points which included 2 key passes, 4 tackles won and an accurate cross. If you think Manchester United can end their season on a high, Dorgu could be a great DEF-2/3 for your roster.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.

Carlos Alcaraz (Ros 11%)

Prospects: After an underwhelming showing at Southampton, Alcaraz found himself playing for Italian giants Juventus on loan, but still didn't seem to have any attacking output. Alcaraz then moved to Flamengo in 2024, where he scored 2 goals in 13 appearances. So maybe Moyes saw his potential there because Everton have now signed the Argentine on loan (with an option to buy) and it could not have come at a better time for all parties involved. Doucoure's suspension in GW24 paved the opportunity for Alcaraz to get his first start for the Toffees and what a start it was. 27.75 FPts versus a tough Crystal Palace team. He notched his first goal and assist for the campaign, so it would be quite harsh to bench the talented midfielder for an out-of-form and possibly past-his-prime Doucoure. Everton have been screaming for some reliable creativity and goal contributions from their midfield, especially with McNeil having been absent for such a long period due to injury. Alcaraz even seems to have some chemistry with in-form striker Beto. I'd definitely throw a few FAB his way as he has already shown the potential to be a MID-2/3.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 5-7 FAB to get him.

Paul Onuachu (Ros 4%)

Prospects: It seems as though Tall Paul has finally cemented his spot as part of the Saints attack. If you're in need of a reliable FWD-3, Onuachu is your guy. Over the past 3 gameweeks, Onuachu has been been averaging 8.5 gPPS, scored a goal and notched an assist. Southampton will hope this rich vein of form continues as they continue to fight for their Premier League survival. He now seems to be central to all of their attacks and we can only hope Juric sticks with him for the rest of the season. Onuachu's 9.4 PPS and 12.6 PP90 are the best of all Saints assets over the entire season. Even his ghost points are reliable, with the main source being aerials. He has actually registered at least 6 aerials over his last 6 starts, which is now starting to make him almost a set-and-forget option for some leagues.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.
