This article will focus on trade advice that highlights players that are either worth trading in on a low, or trading out on a high. This could involve players who could see their minutes reduced, have a purple patch come to an end, or on the flip side involve players who might be starting to heat up. This article will also feature advice and strategy tips from our very own Draft Genie, and his interesting style of playing the game.

Fantasy EPL hints and tips

Players To Trade-In

This section will focus on players to target in your trade offers. Usually there are two types of players to trade-in. The ones you "buy low" on, who may be in a poor patch of form, injured, or not seeing consistent minutes with all that about to change. The second is where you "buy high". While that will sound contradictory, these players could be showing no signs of slowing down and are en-route to a breakout season. You want to try and trade-in these players before they become unattainable, even if it involves offering more than what their draft-day or early-season value was.

Anthony Elanga (NOT - FWD)

Analysis: Elanga has had a few poor performances after his incredible purple patch of returns in 7 of 9 games. Recently he has had three single digit outings in a row, but after the upcoming game against Manchester City, Forest have a better run of games against the likes of Ipswich, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Everton, Spurs, and Brentford. This means that Elanga has every chance to get back on track during this run of games. Many managers probably use Elanga as a FWD-3, but when he's on form, he has the upside of a FWD-1. Elanga is a staple in this Forest team attack, that is currently fighting for a Champions League spot. At this point in the season, making trades can make or break the rest of your campaign, but bringing in Elanga is one of those low risk high reward trades, especially when you consider his potential price tag.

Trade Offer Value: I would offer out some low upside assets such as: Wharton, Bentancur, and Cook in deals for Elanga. Throw in 10-15 FAB and that probably will get the deal across the line.

Evanilson (BOU - FWD)

Analysis: Evanilson is back! The Brazilian marked his return with his first goal since injury in the FA Cup fixture vs. Wolves on the weekend. It remains to be seen how soon he is thrown into the EPL XI, but don't be surprised if it is this weekend. Bournemouth have lost 2 of their last 3 EPL games, so bringing in Evanilson from the jump could be a strategy Iraola reverts to. Tavernier and Scott are both also returning from injury, giving Bournemouth a lot of key pieces they need to finish off this season on a high.

Dango has been going strong as a makeshift striker for Bournemouth, but Iraola is a big fan of Evanilson, and could either shift Dango to the wing, or relegate him to an off-the-bench role, from which he has also proved to be very effective. Although there are lots of question marks over playing time for assets in the Bournemouth attack, Evanilson is still worth bringing in for the right price.

Trade Offer Value: I would offer out assets such as: Garnacho, Andreas, and Rogers in a deal for Evanilson.

Players To Trade-OUT

This section will focus on players that you should be actively trying to trade out over the next week or so. These players could be on course to see a minute reduction or be having a bad season that it seems they can't recover from. A lot of times name value players will feature here, as you will still find managers who believe they can return to their glory days. Each season brings new challenges and as we have seen even the very best assets can fall off a cliff in just a single season (Rashford of 2024). Look to trade out these players before their value becomes so low that you may need to consider dropping them.

Leandro Trossard (ARS - MID)

Analysis: Trossard's time in the XI may be coming to an end soon with both Saka and Martinelli expected back in the next 3-4 games. If you are in a playoff league, I would consider him a near must-sell as he might be useless during your playoff stretch. Saka and Martinelli are both penciled in to return at the end of the month, meaning Trossard will face early subs, and of course return to coming off the bench as a super-sub.

Since Trossard has scored double digits in his last 3 games, this should make him an easy sell ahead of games vs. Manchester United and Chelsea, two very inconsistent teams. Trossard has been performing like a MID-3 since the new year, so I would look for similar value. Your best bet is to try and offer him out to the Saka/Martinelli manager insisting they need Trossard to cover the rotation that will happen when either player returns from injury. Ideally you're looking to receive an asset with more guaranteed starts. At this point in the season look for someone with a lower floor but more upside. A player who can slot in as a boom or bust MID-4 or FWD-3.

Trade Offer Value: I would look to target players such as: Hudson-Odoi, Minteh, Kudus, and Tavernier.

Adam Wharton (CRY - MID)

Analysis: Wharton marked his return to the Palace XI with a solid 10 point outing consisting of pure ghosts. Wharton has always shown he has a solid floor, making him a set and forget MID-5, but he rarely lacks the upside to win you the week. While there is always the argument to have 1-2 floor players in your starting XI, I do believe Wharton's "floor" can be streamed each week amongst a variety of available midfielders such as: Gueye, Ndidi, Aribo, Smallbone etc... What you should do now, especially ahead of playoffs/the final season push is offer out Wharton + 1 for a player that can win you a week.

To make a trade like this happen, especially since Wharton was probably picked up not that long ago, you will need to target a manager that lacks serious starters, is on a poor run of form and is struggling to stream assets week to week. You won't be able to get anyone who will light up your team, but an upside asset that could pop off and hit form is where I am aiming.

Trade Offer Value: I would offer out a deal of Wharton + assets like Cook/Richards/Branthwaite for players like: Jackson (depending on how the manager who rosters him is doing), Rashford, Sarr, or Neto.
