This article will focus on trade advice that highlights players that are either worth trading in on a low, or trading out on a high. This could involve players who could see their minutes reduced, have a purple patch come to an end, or on the flip side involve players who might be starting to heat up. This article will also feature advice and strategy tips from our very own Draft Genie, and his interesting style of playing the game.

Fantasy EPL hints and tips

Strategy Section

This section will highlight some of my unique strategies I use in Fantrax, and how you can apply them to your own style. I will look to discuss trends I am seeing in leagues, or tactics that I may shift to, that will better my chances of winning my league. A lot of these strategies could involve a high-risk high-reward approach, or tactics I see my fellow managers using that I will be advocating against.

Playoff Time Approaches

Analysis: For those leagues in playoffs, we are just 2 weeks away from them starting, which means it's time to plan for the rounds. The way I tend to approach playoffs is planning for the SEMI final. While this may seem like an overreach, considering you will have a round 1 (unless you are a top 2 seed) to work through, the semi-final is the key matchup in my opinion. The final is usually a very hectic, fast-fingers matchup with teams putting out nearly unpredictable lineups on the final day, especially those with nothing to play for which could be the majority of teams this season.

For round 1 (GW36) there is a potential for some double gameweeks, BUT the majority of those teams could blank in 37 because of that. There will be some decent DGW streamers available once the gameweeks are confirmed, and we could start to see rotation for teams who are "on the beach". While I am not a fan of streaming from these teams if they have a double you have to take that gamble. So round 1 is all about trying to collect a few doublers. Spurs, Villa, City and Bournemouth are most likely to double during GW36. GW37 you need to be looking at the friendliest matchups and IF that team has something to play for. Chelsea, is probably the best team to target. They will be playing a lowly United who have nothing to play for and already are in horrible form. Teams like Forest and Newcastle may blank. Everton is another decent team to target. They will be playing Southampton and while they may have nothing to play for, Saints may give their youngsters a few starts as they look to prep for life in the Championship. This could get ugly regardless of the XI Everton choose. If you do make your final my best advice is to be looking at leaks/discord about 15-20 minutes before the usual lineup drop see if u can get a head start on grabbing any upside streamers (think the Adama's of the world).

Drop the Injured

Analysis: Just a few gameweeks left...is it really worth holding those injured assets on the off-chance they start GW38. The answer is no, you could be sacrificing a few sneaky streamer pickup/holds for a solid player that will give you 7 points on that start. A good example of this includes Amad Diallo. He COULD miss the rest of the season or maybe be back on the last week or two? Okay if he is your only injured asset, sure he could be worth the gamble, but once you start piling the injured assets with holding multiple blank gameweek assets you are setting yourself up to lose in the upcoming weeks. Treat every week as a final, if you need to sacrifice a few weeks just to gamble on a player's fitness, always go for the drop.

Blank Gameweek - Must Win

Analysis: The upcoming blank gameweek should be considered a must win. It's gameweek 34, and we are in the final 5 weeks. From year's past I have seen there are many managers willing to sacrifice the blank gameweek, or at least start less players to hoard upcoming DGW assets. My two cents is you can still win the double gameweek with some strong single gameweek assets, but in a blank gameweek you will need every point you can get. A player gets a red card, and you only have 2 players remaining vs. your opponents 4 because you want to hold Kovacic? Maybe a lucky stream of Yoro leads you to a clean sheet and the victory. While there is never a guarantee I would say try your absolute best to get 11 assets in this week. Don't drop your studs, don't drop the players that would be picked up instantly but drop the punts, injured assets, and the random DGW streamers to win this week.
