Waiver Wire Gameweek 37

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 37 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Emile Krafth (Ros 11%)

Prospects: The race for the Europa League spot is getting much tighter after Spurs dropped points in Gameweek 36, which gives a chance for the Magpies to steal 5th in the league table. Over the last 8 games, Newcastle have been the 3rd best team in the league and they are one of the teams with a double gameweek fixture in Gameweek 37. Their first game is at home versus Brighton, a team that has only scored 2 goals in their last 4 away matches, and Newcastle's 2nd game is away to Manchester United, who have the 11th best home form over the last 4 games but were missing their chief creator Bruno Fernandes versus Crystal Palace through injury for the first time since March 2022. This bodes quite well for at least one clean sheet for any Newcastle DEF and according to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, the Magpie defenders have the 3rd best rated fixture in the double gameweek. Since Schar has been ruled out for the upcoming games due to a hamstring injury, Emile Krafth should be a nailed option. Since April 2nd, Krafth has started 5 of 6 games and played 45 minutes in the other game. During this period, Newcastle kept 2 clean sheets with Krafth starting both games. The Swedish defender has also been averaging just over 7 ghost-points-per-90-minutes during this stretch, which makes him a viable DEF-3 for any roster this gameweek.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Trevoh Chalobah (Ros 19%)

Prospects: According to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, Chelsea defenders have the 4th best rated fixture in Gameweek 37 and they also have a double gameweek! Although both of their games are away to Nottingham Forest, who are fighting to avoid relegation, and Brighton, who are both figuratively and literally on the beach, it should bode well for managers that Chelsea have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 5 games. It should also be noted that Chalobah started in all three of those games. Trevoh has the 3rd best PPS (6.9) and 2nd highest ceiling (14.3) of all Chelsea DEFs this season, and has been averaging around 7.5 ghost-points-per-start in his last 3 games. Chelsea are also trying to salvage their season by getting a European spot, so you'll definitely want a piece of that action by rostering Chalobah as a DEF-2/3.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Benoit Badiashile (Ros 18%)

Prospects: If you are unable to get Chalobah in your league, Badiashile could be a great back-up option or even as an asset to match your opponent's Chelsea defensive cover. Badiashile has started the last 4 games for Chelsea and has been quietly scoring ghost points - he even scored 4.5 FPts in a 5-0 loss to Arsenal! Although Badiashile has a notably lower PPS (4.3) than Chalobah, he boasts a better gPPS (7.5), which is the 3rd best of all Chelsea defenders. Over his last 4 starts, Benoit has been averaging just over 8 ghost-points-per-game, which comfortably classes him as a DEF-2/3 in this upcoming double gameweek.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (Ros 31%)

Prospects: Arsenal are top of the league by 1 point and will need to keep dominating games and shutting out their opponents as Man City have now reduced the goal difference to only 6 between the two title contending clubs. Although Arsenal only have the single fixture in Double Gameweek 37, the Gunners are definitely a team to consider any asset from, especially a defender as the Gunners have kept the most clean sheets (17) so far this season. Despite Kiwior's recent rise to fame, it seems as though Tomiyasu has been preferred over the last few fixtures as the Japanese defender has started the last 3 games for the North London outfit. During this period, Tomiyasu kept 2 clean sheets and averaged 8.75 ghost-points-per-start, he was even the top scoring Arsenal DEF (21 FPts) in Gameweek 36! If Manchester United are without Bruno Fernandes for this fixture, I would definitely punt on Tomiyasu as Arsenal currently have the best away form over the last 8 away matches of all teams, having only conceded 3 goals.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Christian Eriksen (Ros 33%)

Prospects: Manchester United currently sit 8th in the Premier League, tied on 54 points with Chelsea, only behind on goal difference (-3). Although the Red Devils are in the FA Cup final, you'd expect their noisy neighbours, Man City, to easily clinch the cup, which leaves Manchester United with only a European spot to fight for. However, with Arsenal and Newcastle as their next 2 games, the Red Devils will need to try and score as many goals as possible as their defence has been terrible in recent weeks, with only 1 clean sheet in their last 12 games. Eriksen has started the last 3 games and been averaging 6-7 ghost-points-per-90-mins. In Bruno's absence, the Danish MID took both corners, as well as a few direct free kicks for Man United in Gameweek 36. In the 3 games that Eriksen started, he averaged at least 1 shot per game and accumulated 7 key passes across 233 minutes, which is roughly 1 KP every 33 minutes. So if you fancied an attacker from Manchester United, Eriksen could be a great punt as a MID-4/5, especially if Bruno Fernandes is at risk of starting their next few games.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
