Waiver Wire Gameweek 6
Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Gameweek 6 Waiver Wire targets that are 40% rostered (Ros) or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!
Douglas Luiz (Ros 26%)
Prospects: A lot has happened since Dougie Lou was announced as a new Forest player, returning after just one season away from the PL. At Villa, he used to be a perennial meh fantasy asset, who was capable of big scores and was always rostered, but still failed to take the next step fantasy-wise. With Ange trying to quickly implement Angeball, there were always gonna be beneficiaries and those who would lose their spot/fantasy effectiveness. Luiz started his first game of the season and ended with 9 points (with an assist), which is not stellar, but his non-scoring stats suggest that he could have had, and hopefully will, a mega score. He had one shot (not on goal), 4 crosses (none accurate) and probably most importantly, 4 corners. Maybe you can get him in cheap, before he has a 20 pointer. If you can, he can anchor your mid for the season.
Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 5-7 FAB to get him
Nordi Mukiele (Ros 24%)
Prospects: The French CB is one of many Leverkusen imports this season, and other than the first 2 games (due to him signing late), he has started all of Sunderland's games. For fantasy, he has been absolutely lights out. He has managed double-digit scores in all 3 of his games, and particularly in GW5 against Villa where he was brilliant for fantasy and in real life. While Sunderland have had a pretty easy start to the season, the upcoming fixtures should continue to provide great opportunities for Mukiele and all his defensive team mates. If he keeps this up, he is a DEF-11, you heard it here first.
Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 5-7 FAB to get him
Yasin Ayari (Ros 5%)
Prospects: Ayari has featured many times on these columns last season, as he straddled the waiver pickup/droppable line masterfully. The Swedish youngster scored a great goal against Spurs to end up with a 17.75 FPts score. Before that, he had managed to constantly score around 5 points, which is not great. So he definitely needs an attacking return to get a great score, but he has it in him every week, especially a long ranger like this weekend (he has managed 9 shots in his 3 starts).
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him.
