Waiver Wire Gameweek 9

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Gameweek 9 Waiver Wire targets that are 40% rostered (Ros) or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Josh Acheampong (Ros 10%)

Prospects: Acheampong racked up just under 30 fantasy points this weekend, thanks to a goal and a clean sheet against Forest. With Chelsea’s squad plagued by injuries, he’s now earned a second consecutive start and his third of the season. While last week’s outing brought only a meager two points, his first start back in August against Palace delivered a strong 17-point performance. Chelsea also have a favorable run of fixtures ahead, including Sunderland at home next weekend. If you missed out on Chalobah, Acheampong could be a smart pickup for the next few gameweeks.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him

Lesley Ugochukwu (Ros 2%)

Prospects: Lesley Ugochukwu hasn’t yet proven himself as a reliable fantasy asset, especially considering his stint with Southampton last season. The 21 year old former Chelsea man earned a few starts early on this season but offered little in terms of returns. However, after finding the net for Villa last gameweek he was awarded a start and followed it up with a goal against Leeds. Is he goal-dependent? Likely. Is he on a relegation-bound team? Probably. Still, there’s some potential upside here with a favorable run of fixtures in WOL, WHU, and BRF among the next five, and his recent deployment in the furthest forward midfielder role (with Florentino Luis doing more of his previous defensive work).

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him

Marshall Munetsi (Ros 22%)

Prospects: The Zimbabwean international emerged last season as a decent fantasy asset, capable of putting up solid scores in favorable matchups after arriving in the winter transfer window. He’s started the last three gameweeks, and in a year where midfielders have been hard to find and stream, his recent scores of 8, 12, and 11 are hard to ignore. He’s also played around 90 minutes in all three starts. With Burnley up next, Munetsi is tempting as a MID4 option with MID3 upside.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him
