Fantrax EPL: Gameweek 14 Perfect XI

The Perfect XI format of Fantasy EPL on Fantrax is going to take the community by storm. Fact. Our good friends at DPLCommLeague have brought the concept over to Fantrax, and it is sensational. We're here to provide Draft Premier League managers with our very own Perfect XI tips for each gameweek. Details of the concept and rules can be found here!

Check out DPLCommLeague for further information on the format, regular updates on the latest standings, as well as information on how you can enter.

Fantasy EPL Gameweek 14 Perfect XI

So, what is Perfect XI? Similar to Official Fantasy Premier League game, all managers have full access to the entire player pool each week, meaning multiple teams within the league could be completely identical. The main departures from OFPL are the Fantrax Default Scoring, unlimited transfers each week, no budget/salary cap, and live lineup changes available. This means that each week you can select a dream team of Fantrax assets who you think will score the most points on a given gameweek, and have the added bonus of being able to see the real life lineups before your players lock in. Magic.

Check out our Perfect XI tips below. These are our recommendations for the best eleven players this weekend! Picks are now accompanied by our weekly projections, which our Inner Circle members can exclusively access.

GK: Aaron Ramsdale

Team: Arsenal

Opponent: Man Utd (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: ~7 (GK projections to come)

Ramsdale only has a 20% chance of keeping a clean sheet, but he has an excellent save percentage of 81.4% and could be busy against a Man Utd front line who will be eager to please their new boss.

Pivot: Edouard Mendy

DEF: Trent Alexander Arnold

Team: Liverpool

Opponent: Everton (Home)

Projected Fantasy Points: 15.6

Once again, the best scoring fantasy defender in the game, averaging an impressive 20 points a game, don't overthink this one. This week, vs Everton, he has a 45% chance of keeping a clean sheet, 33% chance of assisting, and 13% chance of scoring .

Pivot: Konstantinos Tsimikas

DEF: Joao Cancelo

Team: Manchester City

Opponent: Aston Villa (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: 13.5

Like the aforementioned Liverpool RB, it's hard to bench Cancelo. He scores phenomenally well offensively, has the 2nd most points of any Fantrax defender, and has a 50% chance of keeping a clean sheet, 20% chance of assisting and 13% chance of scoring. If he doesn't start I'd likely rotate to a 3 at the back or Zinchenko.

Pivot: Oleksandr Zinchenko

DEF: Reece James

Team: Chelsea

Opponent: Watford (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: 17.3

Once again we're back to the basics: Trent, Cancelo, and at least one Chelsea WB for our Perfect XI defenders. James has been putting up ridiculous numbers every time he starts and this week should be no exception against a very weak defensively Watford side. He's actually the highest projected defender for once and has a 55% chance of a clean sheet, 25% of an assist, and 17% of a goal.

Pivot: Cesar Azpilicueta

DEF: Marcos Alonso

Team: Chelsea

Opponent: Watford (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: 17.1

It's a 4 at the back week and we're taking both the Chelsea wing backs in a great matchup against the team that concedes the 2nd most fantasy points to defenders (after Norwich). Alonso has most set pieces (he took 13 corners last game!) and boasts 55% clean sheet odds, 20% goal odds (highest of any defender) and 17% assist odds.

Pivot: Christian Pulisic/Hakim Ziyech

MID: Mason Mount/Callum Hudson-Odoi

Team: Chelsea

Opponent: Watford (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: 13.8/11.9

Notice a theme? Chelsea away to Watford should involve multiple goals for the Blues and I back Mount, who should start after a benching in GW13 to be involved. Last time he played a relegation threatened side, Norwich, he scored a hat trick. I think he returns to form and so do the projections. CHO is likely an equally good play but he has started 7 games in a row and might be due for a rest or at least an early substitution. I think playing both Chelsea attackers is very viable this week with City's stud MIDs still questionable.

Pivot: Ziyech/Pulisic/other Chelsea wingers

MID: Phil Foden/Ilkay Gundogan

Team: Manchester City

Opponent: Aston Villa (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: 13.3/12.1

Another combo play. Just like the last 2 weeks, If Foden starts, you should start him. If he doesn't, I'd still advise having a piece of the Manchester City attack in the form of Gundogan or Silva. Let's face it, just about every week you should have a piece of the City attack in Perfect XI as they're always candidates for multiple return games. Foden has a 38% chance of scoring and a 29% chance of assisting. Gundogan's odds are a lot less, but he's likely to put up plenty of peripherals and get some set pieces in KDB's likely absence. If KDB somehow plays I'd advise starting him and still 1 of these guys.

Pivot: Bernardo Silva

MID: James Maddison

Team: Leicester

Opponent: Southampton (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: 10.5

Hot off a 1 goal, 2 assist 37 pointer, I'm riding with James Maddison. Long have we touted him, but let's see if he can keep it up vs Southampton. Tielemans will likely be out, Madds should have most set pieces (although watch out for an Albrighton start) and he has 20% goal odds and 17% assist odds.

Pivot: Bruno Fernandes

FWD: Mohamad Salah

Team: Liverpool

Opponent: Everton (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: 17.4

Salah is the best player in the Premier League right now, the highest scoring player in Fantrax, and has a 56% chance of scoring (highest of the week) and a 31% chance of assisting. Just do it.

Pivot: Sadio Mane

FWD: Riyad Mahrez

Team: Manchester City

Opponent: Aston Villa (Home)

Projected Fantasy Points: 14.0/13.5

Mahrez finally played last week (as did Jesus) and got an assist for a solid 13 FPts. When he starts he's golden and I'm picking him again this weekend. 36% chance of a goal and 29% chance of assisting (2nd highest of any forward). Has a great floor via set pieces, especially with KDB out. If he's not starting you can pivot to another City forward or midfielder.

Pivot: Gabriel Jesus/Raheem Sterling

FWD: Dioga Jota

Team: Liverpool

Opponent: Everton (Away)

Projected Fantasy Points: 14.6

Just like last week I'm taking 2 Liverpool forwards, but this time I'm taking the one I should have taken last week in Jota instead of Mane. Slightly higher projection, and slightly higher goal odds (44%). It's really a toss up so just take your pick, or play all 3!

Pivot: Harry Kane
