Fantasy EPL Gameweek 30 Sleepers XI
For this article, we use the % rostered from Fantrax. Our only rule is that each player we highlight is required to be rostered in 60% of leagues or below at the time of writing. Therefore there's a good chance these players will be free agents in your Fantrax Draft League!
GK: Alphonse Areola
Team: Fulham
Opponent: Aston Villa (Away)
Rostered: 58%
Points Last Gameweek: 0.25
Prospects:Â There really aren't many decent streamer options this week for Goalkeepers. So I'm backing an old favourite for my debut Draft Society edition of the Sleepers XI. Alphonse Areola has been one of my go-to GKs this season, so I'll back the Frenchman as Fulham face a trip to Aston Villa. Grealish should be back in the side, which means The Villans will be much more creative, and Areola will face a fair few shots. Lets just hope he saves most of them!
DEF: Jan Bednarek
Team: Southampton
Opponent: Burnley (Home)
Rostered: 56%
Points Last Gameweek: 0.75
Prospects:Â Jan Bednarek playing against Burnley. A match made in heaven! The Polish defender scored an incredible 21.25 points in the reverse fixture back in September. Bednarek produced 8 aerial wins and 13 effective clearances during that game. More of the same, please! The Saints should have Walcott and Ings back this weekend, and I'm backing them to beat Burnley and earn a clean sheet.
DEF: Andreas Christensen
Team: Chelsea
Opponent: West Bromwich Albion (Home)
Rostered: 42%
Points Last Gameweek: 12.25
Prospects:Â Let me just say that Andreas Christensen is not a player I particularly like in Fantrax. He doesn't perform well for ghost points. But he doesn't have to, playing in this Chelsea side. The Blues have produced 5 clean sheets in a row, and Christensen has gained double-figure hauls in all 5 of these games. Tuchel's side face relegation fodder West Brom this weekend, and another clean sheet is likely.
DEF: Liam Cooper
Team: Leeds United
Opponent: Sheffield United (Home)
Rostered: 40%
Points Last Gameweek: N/A
Prospects:Â I love Liam Cooper (as a footballer). The Leeds United captain has performed very well in Fantrax this season. The Englishman is ranked 19th overall in our Ghost Point Tracker alongside the likes of Mane and Gross. This coupled with the fact that Leeds face bottom of the league Sheffield United at home this weekend makes Cooper an essential pick. He missed the last couple of games through injury and illness, but he should be back this weekend!
DEF: Mason Holgate
Team: Everton
Opponent: Crystal Palace (Home)
Rostered: 23%
Points Last Gameweek: 1
Prospects:Â The final defender in my Gameweek 30 Sleepers XI is Mason Holgate. Not a player I would usually back, but I wanted to feature an Everton defender ahead of their game against Crystal Palace. Quite simply I think Everton will gain a clean sheet against the Eagles, which will provide Holgate with a decent score. If Benteke starts, the Everton defenders will have plenty of long balls to deal with, which means lots of points for aerial wins!
MID: Trezeguet
Team: Aston Villa
Opponent: Fulham (Home)
Rostered: 42%
Points Last Gameweek: 1
Prospects:Â First things first, there is lots of competition for the attacking slots at Aston Villa. With Grealish due back and lots of rotation occurring over the last few weeks, a start for Trezeguet this weekend is far from guaranteed. However, he's a player who is worth rostering so that you can slot into your Starting XI when he does start. In Gameweek 28 Trezeguet gained 15 points in 67 minutes of action without attacking returns. That shows what he can do, and shows why you should take a punt on him ahead of the fixture against Fulham!
MID: Nathan Redmond
Team: Southampton
Opponent: Burnley (Home)
Rostered: 37%
Points Last Gameweek: -1
Prospects:Â Nathan Redmond has had a poor season by his standards: in and out of the team, and constant struggles with injury. It hasn't been a classic for the former Norwich City midfielder. However, I think things are finally going to change for him. I ranked Redmond at 57th overall in our March Rest-of-Season Rankings, which was admittedly much much higher than my fellow analysts! Southampton face Burnley at home this weekend, and I think Redmond will start this game and have a good end to the season. He starred during Southampton's FA Cup victory over Bournemouth prior to the IB.
MID: Luka Milivojevic
Team: Crystal Palace
Opponent: Everton (Away)
Rostered: 26%
Points Last Gameweek: 18.5
Prospects:Â Rounding out the midfield is Luka Milivojevic. I'm really not keen on this pick, but there are limited options for low ownership midfielders this week! Last time I backed Milivojevic he scored his first goal of the season en route to a stunning 18.5 points. Now, I don't think he's going to put up those kinds of numbers against Everton, but I do think he'll score fairly well. The Serbian has upped his game in terms of ghost points in recent weeks.
FWD: Christian Benteke
Team: Crystal Palace
Opponent: Everton (Away)
Rostered: 53%
Points Last Gameweek: 6
Prospects:Â Another Crystal Palace asset? Yes, please. This one is a ghost points king! Christian Benteke is ranked 13th overall in our Ghost Point Tracker, and he needs to be rostered in every single Fantrax league when he's starting. The Belgian striker has gained 45.5 points during the last four games, scoring just one goal. Benteke is a luxury player in Fantrax and should score well against Everton on Monday.
FWD: Ivan Cavaleiro
Team: Fulham
Opponent: Aston Villa (Away)
Rostered: 38%
Points Last Gameweek: 10
Prospects:Â Like Benteke above, Ivan Cavaleiro has started the last four games for his side, after being in and out of the team prior to this. The Portuguese forward gained 10 points without attacking returns in Gameweek 29, and I'm backing him to start and score well this weekend. I'm a huge fan of Fulham and I see Cavaleiro playing a big part in their survival bid. If you're struggling for FWD options this weekend, he's a decent bet.
FWD: Carlos Vinicius
Team: Tottenham Hotspur
Opponent: Newcastle United (Away)
Rostered: 17%
Points Last Gameweek: 9
Prospects:Â The final player in my Gameweek 30 Sleepers XI is a massive punt on Carlos Vinicius. The on-loan Brazilian scored in Gameweek 29, and I'm speculatively backing him to start once again this weekend. Vinicius formed a decent partnership with Kane as a front two, and I think we'll see more of this as the season reaches its climax. Tottenham face Newcastle this weekend, and I would want a piece of any of their starting players!
