Waiver Wire Gameweek 16

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Gameweek 16 Waiver Wire targets that are 40% rostered (Ros) or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Djed Spence (Ros 31%)

Prospects: Spurs have a favorable run of fixtures until February, struggling Liverpool included, and this could be a good window to capitalize on their assets if they build on the momentum from their 2-0 home win over Brentford. Spence isn’t historically a flashy scorer, but he delivered 15 points this past weekend thanks in part to the clean sheet. Udogie is out until the new year based on the most up to date news we have.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him

Ao Tanaka (Ros 4%)

Prospects: Farke’s Leeds have shown real punch and spirit over their last two matches, grabbing a win against Chelsea and a respectable draw vs Liverpool. Stach and DCL have been the most relevant fantasy assets recently, while Gruev hasn’t impressed (despite taking sets), and I could see Tanaka breaking into the XI against Brentford this weekend (after an impressive showing off the bench in GW15). Leeds also have a favorable run of fixtures ahead, including key home matches where they tend to thrive. The Japanese international is coming off two straight games with a goal, let’s hope he can build on that form.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him

Marc Guiu (Ros 5%)

Prospects: Delap was forced off with an apparent shoulder injury against Bournemouth and could miss 6–8 weeks. While I expect Pedro to lead the line, it may be worth holding onto Guiu until Everton’s lineups are announced this gameweek. He’ll likely be a spotty, and probably weak (think no floor, incredibly goal-dependent), streaming option if he doesn’t start, so feel free to drop him in that case. Delap is a definite drop based on his predicted timeline of a month plus out.
