We ain’t afraid of no ghosts. In fact, we seek them – ghost points, that is. Ghost points are fantasy points that do not come from attacking returns or clean sheets. These can come in the form of key passes, shots on target, successful dribbles, interceptions, and tackles, among others. Identifying these points is essential for your Fantasy EPL prospects, and our Gameweek 19 Ghost Point Hunters article is here to help!

This Ghost Point Hunters article is based on the Fantrax Scoring System. Check out our Ghost Point Tracker page for the full list of Fantasy EPL players and their respective Ghost Point capabilities!
Gameweek 19 Ghost Point Hunters
Mateus Goncalo Espanha Fernandes
Position: Midfielder
Team: Southampton
Rostered: 18%
Ghost Points Per Start: 6
Ghost Points Last GW: 13.25
Prospects: It's really difficult to roster assets from the worst team in the league. Teams that don't create and score enough goals just don't have enough points to give. But a managerial change has us at least monitoring some players from lowly Southampton. And Fernandes (he's Portuguese despite having Spain in his name) is one. He has delivered some decent ghosts since Ivan Juric arrived on the south coast, including a 13+ point midweek performance against West Ham, stemming from 5 Key Passes, 1 Shot on Target, 1 Tackle Won, 1 Accurate Cross Not A Corner (ACNC), 1 Interception, & 2 Successful Dribbles. Impressive stuff. Let's see if he can keep it up but he's not a bad punt in a shallow midfield pool.
Verdict: Pick him up!
Paul Onuachu
Position: Forward
Team: Southampton
Rostered: 0%
Ghost Points Per Start: N/A
Ghost Points Last GW: 10
Prospects: We never thought we'd shout out one Saints player let alone two. But "Tall Paul" has us intrigued, not only due to his freakishly giant stature but also his aerial prowess. In addition to passing the eye test in his first start, he bagged a load of ghosties (mostly from the air): 1 Key Pass, 2 Shots on Target, 1 Tackle Won, & 10 (!) Aerials. If he can find an eye for goal, he can deliver some hauls. Juric likes his wide players to whip in crosses to the big fella up front and that should create opportunities for aerials and attacking returns. We like his potential as a FWD3 ROS despite Saints' travails.
Verdict: Pick him up!
Brajan Gruda
Position: Midfielder
Team: Brighton
Rostered: 5%
Ghost Points Per Start: N/A
Ghost Points Last GW: 16.5
Prospects: The German wunderkind came over with a big price tag and a ton of potential. It hasn't really happened for him yet at Brighton but the season is young. Gruda got his chance v Brentford and he went nuts, posting 16+ scary scores from an array of categories: 5 Key Passes, 1 Shot on Target, 1 Tackle Won, 1 Accurate Cross Not A Corner (ACNC), 1 Interception, & 2 Aerials. This performance may need to be taken with a grain of salt as a lot of Seagull attackers ate very well (he, Enciso, & O'Riley all ghosted) in a dominant performance against a hapless Brentford team, despite not seeing the back of the net. To be determined if he can replicate it but we're intrigued. He's worth a punt/hold.
Verdict: Pick him up!
Not So Fast:
Jordan Ayew (Leicester FWD; 8.25 ghosts): He's had his time but it's over. A fluke performance against Liverpool doesn't change the fact that Ayew is a spent force. His sub 5 GPPS puts paid to that notion.
Brighton DEFs (JPVH & Veltman; 13.75 & 9.75 ghosts): As we mentioned above, almost all Brighton assets did well against Brentford. When this happens, it is usually an aberration for some players. A great team performance against a poor team inflates numbers. Given that Brighton defenders rarely score all that well (neither if these guys flagged above boast a GPPS over 7) or keep cleansheets, we're not holding any of them.
One(s) To Watch:
Konstantinos Mavrapanos (West Ham United DEF; 9 ghosts): Despite the inconsistency, the towering Greek has shown he can ghost. With the Hammers showing a bit more defensive solidity and his felloe CB Kilman potentially being out injured for the foreseeable future, he has the chance to be the alpha dog. Keep an eye out.
Toti (Wolves DEF; 9.75 ghosts): New manager Vitor Pereira has the erstwhile worst defense in the league coming off of back to back cleansheets. Newfound stinginess at the back and Toti's ghosting upside make him a potential prospect ROS.
Category Killer Winners:
Key Passes: Phil Foden (7)
Successful Dribbles: Savio (7)
Aerials: Paul Onuachu (10)
Accurate Crosses Not Corners (ACNCs): Trent Alexander Arnold (3)
Tackles Won: Dean Huijsen (5)
Interceptions: Matt Doherty (5)
Dr. Peter Venkman Award:
Carlos Soler (West Ham MID; 2 ghosts): We really like the former Valencia academy kid as a player. But it's just not going to happen for him in the ghost point department, is it? We've been waiting for him to hit his stride - to no avail. While he has been unlucky not to nick more attacking returns (he hit the post again v Southampton), he only mustered 1 Key Pass before yet another early sub. His GPPS is under 4. Stop streaming this guy.
