Waiver Wire Gameweek 19
Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Gameweek 19 Waiver Wire targets that are 40% rostered (Ros) or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!
Ayden Heaven (Ros 3%)
Prospects: 19yo Heaven has started 5 games in a row and recently earned his first Premier League clean sheet against Newcastle United in GW18. His manager, Amorim, said, "If he continues to play like that, it's going to be really hard to take his place." Thursday's matchup is the best he and United will get all season in Wolves at home. They have the 2nd best clean sheet odds of the week (to Arsenal's 51%) at 46% and Wolves offer the highest fixture difficulty score with defenders averaging 12.8 fpts vs. them. Those facts plus Heaven's solid, if unspectacular, 6.8 GPPS make him a solid punt vs the worst team in the league.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him
Lewis Miley (Ros 25%)
Prospects: Another 19yo, Miley has been tasked with playing right back in the absence of Livramento & Trippier. In GW19, he'll matchup away to the 2nd worst side in the league in Burnley. He hasn't scored (or ghosted) particularly well the last 2 weeks when he played RB (avg 5.8 PPS & GPPS), but they were against Chelsea and a surprisingly decent Man United side. Burnley should offer far less pressure (and resistance), so Miley should be able to shine brighter on both sides of the ball. Defenders average 10.2 PPS vs Burnley and midfielders average 10.6 PPS. Wherever you deem Miley in that equation, its a good matchup. 40% clean sheet odds for Newcastle (which Miley won't benefit much from) and 20% return odds (goal or assist), mean this is predominantly a floor, ghost point play vs a bad side, but you could do worse for a MID4.
Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 0-1 FAB to get him
Eddie Nketiah (Ros 20%)
Prospects: We know Nketiah has been mentioned often around these parts recently, and perhaps too often, given his lack of production. But, for this midweek matchup vs Fulham he looks quite likely to start with youngster Devenny not impressing in GW18 and Palace having very little depth otherwise. And the last time he started and produced also happened to be vs Fulham! In GW15 away to the Cottagers, he scored 15.5 fpts with a goal. This week he has an impressive 43% probability to return vs them again (bookies goal or assist odds). His 6.0 GPPS (in 9 starts) in the 24/25 season offer an okay floor for a forward and Fulham are middle of the fixture difficulty rankings for forwards, so this is largely an upside/return play but a solid one in a shallow forward pool. Plus, he was dropped most places on the no-start last gameweek!
