We ain’t afraid of no ghosts. In fact, we seek them – ghost points, that is. Ghost points are fantasy points that do not come from attacking returns or clean sheets. These can come in the form of key passes, shots on target, successful dribbles, interceptions, and tackles, among others. Identifying these points is essential for your Fantasy EPL prospects, and our Gameweek 28 Ghost Point Hunters article is here to help!

This Ghost Point Hunters article is based on the Fantrax Scoring System. Check out our Ghost Point Tracker page for the full list of Fantasy EPL players and their respective Ghost Point capabilities!
Gameweek 28 Ghost Point Hunters
Adam Wharton
Position: Midfielder
Team: Crystal Palace
Rostered: 45%
Ghost Points Per Start: 6.6
Ghost Points Last GW: 10
Prospects: We're happy to see the young midfield maestro back in the mix. While injuries have restricted Adam Wharton to just 9 starts this season, he now seems back to his best. In fact, against Villa in GW27, he reached double digit ghosts. These came from 3 Key Passes, 1 Tackle Won, 1 Accurate Cross Not a Corner (ACNC), 1 Interception, & 2 Aerials; an all action performance. He should continue to take some set pieces - although he's unlikely to reclaim a quasi monopoly - and should go from strength to strength as he recovers from the knock and regains fitness.
While this is good to see, we still don't think he'll keep up this level of ghosting. Wharton currently sits on 6.6 GPPS; the exact same figures from last season. This is more of a schedule play. Palace face Ipswich Town at home this weekend, blank in GW29, but then face Southampton before a DGW in GW32. You'll want to have this high floor/reliable midfielder for this run. If he can get involved in some attacking returns, which looks likely given the ole eye test, even better.
Verdict: Pick him up; if he's not available, wait to see if he's dropped when Palace blank next GW and pounce.
Yankuba Minteh
Position: Forward
Team: Brighton
Rostered: 86%
Ghost Points Per Start: 10.3
Ghost Points Last GW: 13.25
Prospects: This has been a rollercoaster of a debut season in the EPL with Brighton. The pre-draft hysteria looked warranted early in the season before Minteh saw a long spell of benching and rotation. And now he's one of the hottest players in the league. He continued his ghosting ways this most recent GW, posting over a dozen scary scores: 1 Key Pass, 1 Shot on Target, 5 Tackles Won, 1 Accurate Cross Not a Corner (ACNC), 1 Interception, 7 Clearances, 1 Successful Dribble, & 1 Aerial. He nearly pulled off a Full House (scoring in each statistical category).
This late in the season, managers have to play the hot hand. And it does not get any hotter than Minteh, who at the moment boasts the 2nd highest GPPS form (GPPS in the last 3 games) of nearly 15. The rotation worries have all but subsided as he has started the last four games on the spin. In short, he ghosts and he puts up attacking returns. In current form, Minteh could win managers some leagues ROS. Get him in!
Verdict: Try opening with less but, if necessary, settle on dealing a bigger name like Maddison or Diaz in a 1:1.
Adam Webster
Position: Defender
Team: Brighton
Rostered: 5%
Ghost Points Per Start: 5.8
Ghost Points Last GW: 10
Prospects: We miss Shane Duffy - one of the few reliable ghosting defenders in Brighton history. The Seagulls still have Adam Webster but he's just not the same. Well, he surprised us all by showing his inner Duffy last week, delivering 10 precious ghosts. These stemmed from1 Key Pass, 1 Tackle Won, 3 Interceptions, 4 Clearances, 2 Blocked Shots, & 1 Aerial.
On the face of it, this newfound ghosting looks short lived. The big fella has only mustered a sub 6 GPPS this campaign. However, his recent scores are much better. His GPPS form is just under 9. This makes Webster punt/stream worthy.
Verdict: We have reservations and need to see more consistency. But he's a decent streaming option if you need a defender, especially if Brighton have a good matchup.
Not So Fast:
Jaden Philogene Bidace (Ipswich Town FWD; 18.5 ghosts): Over the years, the Aston Villa youngster impressed when given cameos but just couldn't crack the Villans' starting xi, forcing him to part ways in search of more consistent playing time. He has found it at Ipswich Town, and he's repaying their faith early doors. He scored a brace and a bag of ghosts in GW27. While not a bad punt to rotate in as a FWD3 in your squad ROS, we don't expect him to keep this up. There are several mitigating factors explaining this crazy score. First, lads, it's Man United. Philogene and Ipswich were against one of the most generous defenses. And they were up a man for much of the game. To cap it off, he was literally gifted one of those goals. He's a talent but there's no way he comes close to putting up these numbers again this season. Act accordingly.
One(s) To Watch:
Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United DEF; 13.5 ghosts): The aging left footed wizard is one of our favorite ghosters of all time and has saved us on countless occasions. So we seize on any opportunity to believe that he's back to his best. He gave us reason to believe this past GW by taking some set pieces and dropping over a dozen ghosties, including 2 Key Passes & 1 Accurate Cross Not a Corner (ACNC). This is really the only decent performance he's put in this season and it was against one of the league's worst sides in Leicester. So we need to see more before fully buying into the renaissance. But he's given us more than enough proof over the years that he can ghost. We'll continue to watch him with great interest.
Category Killer Winners:
Key Passes: Enzo Fernandez (6)
Successful Dribbles: Justin Kluivert (7)
Aerials: Rodrigo Muniz (8)
Accurate Crosses Not Corners (ACNCs): Pedro Porro(4)
Tackles Won: Marc Cucurella (5)
Interceptions: Flynn Downes (4)
Dr. Peter Venkman Award:
Rasmus Hojlund (Manchester United FWD; -0.5 ghosts): We don't say this lightly. Rasmus Hojlund could be in the midst of putting together the worst ghosting season in history enroute to becoming the Dr. Peter Venkman GOAT. This is not hyperbole. In his most recent outing in GW27 - we feel zero sympathy for you poor mugs who streamed him in the hope that things would be different, especially at home to relegation fodder Ipswich Town - he finished with -2.5 points. How is that possible? Well, only by pairing a Yellow Card with a Dispossession. Hojlund had no other recorded stats. Sadly, this isn't a one off. He now has the lowest GPPS form in the league at .75 and maintains a paltry 2.6 GPPS for the campaign. We castigated Bobby Decordova Reid at the end of last season for finishing with a 4ish GPPS, which put him last in our Ghost Point Tracker for those with a certain number of starts. Hojlund is going to blow this out of the water. If it wasn't so incredibly said, it'd be impressive.
