Waiver Wire Gameweek 28

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 28 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Lewis Cook (Ros 29%)

Prospects: Bournemouth are 1 of 2 teams with a double gameweek fixture in Gameweek 28. Although Cook scored 0 FPts versus Manchester City in Gameweek 26, he more than made up for his disappointment in Gameweek 27 with a 24.75 point haul, which included 2 assists. Given the Cherries upcoming opponents include home fixtures against 2 of the promoted teams, Sheffield United and Luton Town, there should be no surprise that our Fixture Difficulty Tracker has Bournemouth MIDs as having the best rated set of fixtures. Cook should start both games and complete 90 minutes in each. Considering Cook typically averages 7-8 FPts per start, you can easily expect 13-15 FPts in the coming gameweek. This makes him an easy MID-4/5 for any manager's roster.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Tahith Chong (Ros 6%)

Prospects: Luton Town are the other team to have a double gameweek fixture. So you might as well punt on a player with a similar profile to Cook from Bournemouth, better yet, one with 3 attacking returns (1 goal & 2 assists) in his last 3 games. The Manchester United product has been in red hot form, averaging just under 13 points per 90 mins. According to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, Luton Town MIDs have the 2nd best rated fixture in Gameweek 28. It also helps that the Hatters are 1 of 8 teams to have a fixture in the massive blank Gameweek 29. So this could be a shrewd grab for the future!

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Kurt Zouma (Ros 26%)

Prospects: Paq is back! West Ham seems to have found their feet again, with back-to-back wins versus Brentford and Everton. In Gameweek 29, they host a struggling Burnley squad that has only scored 1 goal in their last 4 games. We were also reminded of Zouma's goal threat in Gameweek 27, which was part of his 19.5 FPts haul, without a clean sheet. Outside of the double gameweek options, West Ham DEFs have the best rated fixture for all single gameweek defenders (3rd best overall). He might even be a better option than the Luton Down defenders! You can even keep Kurt for blank Gameweek 29.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Tosin Adarabioyo (Ros 28%)

Prospects: Leno and co. have now recorded 7 clean sheets for the season, tied with Liverpool and Manchester United for 3rd overall. After keeping a surprising shut-out versus Brighton, they now visit Wolves who are currently without their main front three attackers in Cunha, Hwang and a potential injury doubt for Neto. Therefore it was no surprise to see them scoreless versus Newcastle United in Gameweek 27. If Wolves are still without any of their main attacking threats, this could be an easy clean sheet play. Adarabioyo has the 2nd best ghost points per start (8.6) and the highest ceiling (16.8) of all Fulham DEFs. Tosin also has a fixture in Gameweek 29!

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Justin Kluivert (Ros 32%)

Prospects: Since Bournemouth MIDs have the best rated fixture for the upcoming gameweek, it only makes sense to punt on Kluivert. That being said, it is quite concerning that Kluivert has the worst ghost points per start (4.0) of all the Cherries midfielders as well as the highest reliance on attacking returns with 32 GACS%, which means that Justin is quite reliant on attacking returns to score any substantial points. The plus side is that Bournemouth are facing two teams with the most and 3rd most goals conceded, Luton Town with 54 and Sheffield United with 72. So this pick might be a bit of a gamble, but it's a good thing you have 2 tries in Gameweek 28!

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.
