Waiver Wire Gameweek 4

Here we outline our Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Gameweek 4 targets that have 40% rostered or below on Fantrax. These players should perform well over the upcoming period!

Liam Delap (Ros 11%)

Prospects: After Ipswich had one of the most difficult starts to the season, versus Manchester City and Liverpool, the Tractor boys finally had a fair match up at home, versus Fulham in Gameweek 3, and banked a well earned point. Liam has started all 3 league games for Ipswich town as the lone striker and currently leads the Ipswich Outfielders in FPts (19.75) and FP/G (6.58), as well as being 2nd highest for shots attempted (4), only behind Hutchinson (5). These aren't glamorous numbers given the fact that more than 80% of his season tally came in Gameweek 3. However, it does bode well seeing Liam's ceiling potential. If Liam, the son of well-known footballer Rory Delap, is able to nail this lone-striker role, managers could be rewarded with the occasional attacking return from a viable FWD-3/4.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Jacob Ramsey (Ros 27%)

Prospects: The Villans have one of the best fixture runs from Gameweek 4 till Gameweek 9, which makes owning their assets almost a priority. However, it was always going to be tricky rostering the right players, especially with the new format of the Champions League resulting in more fixtures being added to the club's schedule. During this 6 gameweek fixture run, there are 3 European games and an English cup game, so there should be plenty opportunity for players like Jacob Ramsey to start some games. Ramsey is not a direct replacement for the newly-injured Bailey, but he has definitely impressed off the bench in his last 3 league games and could just be building fitness, as he was subbed on-and-off in their Gameweek 3 match versus Leicester. During his cameos, Ramsey has been averaging just under 12 gPP90 (ghost points per 90 minutes), and even managed an assist during this run. If you're light on MIDs in your roster, then Ramsey could be a great MID-4/5 addition to your arsenal.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 4-5 FAB to get him.

Jan-Paul van Hecke (Ros 24%)

Prospects: According to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, over the next 2 gameweeks, Brighton DEFs have the 2nd best fixture rating as they host Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest in back-to-back home games. Typically, Brighton DEFs are similar to Manchester City or Arsenal ones, where they don't score a lot of points outside of keeping a clean sheet, but with the new scoring change for conceding the first goal, you might have a better time with assets like van Hecke. The Dutch defender currently leads his compatriots in Interceptions (3), Clearances (10) and Tackles Won (5) and is 1 of only 2 players to have played every minute of regular time for the Seagulls. If you are in need of a DEF-4/5 for your roster, then Jan-Paul is a solid stash as an asset that has averaged just under 7 gPPS (ghost points per start) in his last 2 matches.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him.

Yukinari Sugawara (Ros 13%)

Prospects: Sugawara signed for the Saints this season from AZ Alkmaar, after an impressive spell with the Dutch club, having scored 10 goals in 119 appearances. Sugawara typically plays right-back for both club and country, but now he has been deployed in a slightly more attacking role as a right-wingback for Southampton. Managers must be confused as to why anyone would suggest a Saints DEF as a pick, but Sugawara has been producing very impressive ghost point numbers (11.25 gPP90). The Japanese DEF is the top scoring Saint's outfielder, takes the odd corner and freekick, and is top for both ACNCs (accurate crosses not corners) and SoT (Shot on Target), with 2 in each category. There was a concern about Sugawara's minutes in Gameweek 1, after being substituted at half-time, but since then he has played 71 and 90 minutes in consecutive gameweeks, which bodes well for his points output, especially if he plays the whole game. It also helps that Saints DEFs have the best fixture rating for the next 2 Gameweeks. Consider him a Leif-lite, a great DEF-3 for any roster.

Verdict: I would use a mid-tier waiver pick or 4-6 FAB to get him.

Iliman Ndiaye (Ros 16%)

Prospects: The French-Senegalese FWD was one of the talismen and main reasons that Sheffield United were promoted a few seasons ago, having scored 21 goals in 77 appearances with them. Hence the hype around him in drafts as a sleeper pick for the 23/24 campaign. However, Ndiaye is back in England with Everton now, after the single unproductive season in France with Marseille. The Everton FWD finally got his first start of the 24/25 campaign in Gameweek 3 versus Bournemouth, and was fairly impressive. Ndiaye is currently scoring around 8 gPP90 and already leads the Toffees with 2 SoT, along with Harrison. Although Ndiaye has not gotten an attacking return in the League, during Everton's cup game versus Doncaster, the Everton FWD scored a goal, got 3 key passes, 1 ACNC, 2 successful dribbles and had some defensive contributions. Given the poor run of performances from the ever-reliable Doucoure, Ndiaye should see more starts in an attacking midfield role alongside McNeil and Harrison. A great FWD-2/3 punt.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 2-3 FAB to get him.

Trevoh Chalobah (Ros 5%)

Prospects: After the exit of Joachim Andersen and injury to new-boy Chadi Riad during Crystal Palace's cup game versus Norwich, there should be an opening for the on-loan Chelsea DEF to play in the upcoming fixtures for Palace. According to our Fixture Difficulty Tracker, over the next 4 gameweeks, Palace have the 2nd best fixture difficulty rating, even though they face Liverpool during that run! Although the Sierra Leone DEF isn't well known for his scoring stats, Chalobah was still able to score up to 10.5 points per game during his spells at Chelsea, along with the upside of goals and assists. Despite rarely being given the opportunity to be the alpha-defender in any setup at Chelsea, this could change under Glasner's management with the Eagles, because it also helps his teammates like Guehi by allowing him to play in his more natural LCB role. If you need a DEF-4/5, this could be a great pick with the potential to turn into a DEF-2/3 in the future.

Verdict: I would use a low-tier waiver pick or 1-2 FAB to get him
