Welcome back to the Tuesday Tactical Takeaway after the longest International Break of all time. Seriously, is this mic on? What do I do with my hands? Did anyone else forget to set an alarm? Alright, enough nervous chatter, let's kick this off. We'll be taking a weekly look across the Fantrax EPL Draft landscape and asking the important questions: what went wrong, what went right, who is quietly cooking, and who should probably be taking a long, hard look at their squad.

We’ll dig into the moves, performances, trends and general nonsense that shaped the week and, most importantly, figure out what actually matters going forward. Sometimes a development changes the entire draft landscape; sometimes it changes absolutely nothing; Our job is to try to work out which is which.

The Key Performance Indicators

To kick things off, we’ll take a look at 3–5 of the biggest talking points from the weekend - the performances, trends, tactical wrinkles, and developments that caught our attention and could have a meaningful impact on the Fantrax EPL Draft landscape. Some will prove important; some will prove to be nothing more than a brief statistical curiosity.

Noni Madueke, Ricky Calafiori Shine

The injury news from IB causing actual heartbreak to the managers of Christos Tzolis and opened a void at left wing for the Gunners, which led many to wonder, Eze or Noni? Many assumed Eze, which, look, I don't blame any of you for that. I expected it too. Shock and awe when lineups dropped and Noni Madueke's name was found on that teamsheet, went the full 90 and actually ghosted to the tune of 14 FPts. He's still the same frustrating player to roster who can create his own space and get by most defenders but struggles to finish. But in this midfielder landscape, he's someone I'd be taking a swing on as he should hold that winger spot until Tzolis is healthy.

Calafiori, meanwhile, scored a cheeky goal that probably could have been saved, continuing his recent goal dependent campaign by nearly always being found in the opposing team's box. Phrasing, I know, but it's true, just look at his heatmap for this season! Without a doubt, this tendency makes the 6th highest scoring defender an exciting asset to roster. However, he is averaging just shy of 6 gPPS, with that number being heavily lifted by his last two outings that combined for 20.5 ghost points. Depending on your risk appetite, this could be the perfect time to ship him out.
