Alexander Isak
Position: Striker (F in Fantrax)
Team: Liverpool
Signed From: Newcastle for €14m
Prospects: The 25yo Swede finally gets his desired move to the title winners. The Prem-record signing is a known fantasy commodity (13.7 PPS, 12.8 without pens, 6.5 GPPS, 23 G (4 pens), 6 A for Newcastle in 24/25) largely drafted in the first round in most leagues. Managers have had to sweat his future the last past 3 weeks but are now rewarded with the #9 shirt for the title favourites. There will be some concern over competition for the starting role given Ekitike's big start to the season and similarly large transfer fee, but Isak is the far more Prem-proven option and likely Pool's consistent #1 choice to lead the line (they just chased Ekitike after Newcastle looked to be doing the same and wouldn't initially give them Isak). There will likely be some rotation, especially once UCL starts, but Isak should still be an often-starting high PPS forward for the best attack in the league. He goes straight back to being a top 10 fantasy asset rest of season (and tied for 2nd favorite in Prem top goalscorer odds despite getting 0 so far). Ekitike and Gakpo's values will suffer a bit as a result.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
