24/25 Premier League Confirmed Transfers Analysis

Below, DraftLad will cover each Premier League transfer individually, providing his analysis of how they will be expected to perform in the rest of the 24/25 season. We use a five-star rating model to rank the new signings; use these as a guide to help get your Draft Premier League season off to a flyer!

For coverage of Enciso, Gronbaek, Kayode, & Garcia check out Part 2. For coverage of Marmoush, Malen, Philogene, Esse, and more check out Part 1. Scroll to the bottom for special section on Pour One Out: Transferred Out Players.

We’ve ranked the transfers, based on a star rating, from 1 to 5:

⭐️ = Steer clear

⭐️⭐️ = Wait and see

⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Could be worth a punt

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Great prospect, worth adding

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = The Premier League signing you’ve been waiting for!

PP90 = fantasy points per 90. GPP90 = ghost points per 90. PPS = fantasy points per start, GPPS = ghost points per start (fantasy - goals, assists, clean sheets, cards). xPPS = expected fantasy points per start. WAR = wins above replacement (compared to average fantasy player)

Mathys Tel

Position: Winger/Striker (F in Fantrax)

Team: Spurs

Signed From: Bayern on loan (TM value of €30m, option to buy of 55m)

Prospects: Tel is a 19yo French forward with a boatload of potential and only 1800 minutes (20 90's, 12 goals, 6 assists) worth of senior football. But the big clubs around the world took notice, and while they didn't end up paying the permanent fee, the interest was there and will only grow with time if he continues on his path. Tel is an incredible dribbler (2.6 successful p90, via a 56% success rate) and aerial-winner (1.1 won p90, 59% win rate), not to mention a very high volume shooter (3.6 p90, 1.4 SOT p90), leading to a solid 0.51 npXG+xA and a 13.6 PP90 & 8.2 GPP90 across 1084 minutes in the Bundesliga and UCL. That's all in the context of being part of a dominant Bayern side and largely late sub appearances, but impressive, nonetheless. Tel is yet to truly find his optimal position, but he's played off both wings and through the middle as a sole striker. Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for Spurs and fantasy managers, Bayern have Harry Kane (okay, forget the Spurs part) and a plethora of elite wingers, so Vincent Kompany has kept him to a bit part player and weapon off the bench. At 19yo and with only a handful of senior starts (9), Tel is understandably still quite raw, makes questionable decisions at times, and is too shot-happy (taking some low quality chances). But Spurs and Ange will be ecstatic to have another attacker (or another senior player at all) with injuries piling up and sputtering form. He'll provide much needed ability to beat his man off the dribble and versatility to play across the front line, in the absence of Solanke and fitness issues for Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, and Richarlison. It will likely take him some time to adapt to the more physical, less transition-heavy Premier League and he will face competition from the aforementioned 4 (when fit) not to mention Son & Kulusevski. But his statistical profile bodes very well for fantasy purposes, and even if he's just a rotational starter (like Brennan Johnson, but with more ghost point volume), he'll be well worth rostering. Just know you may be walking into a Doku-esque situation, where you may not get starts for weeks on end, then a boom. Alternatively, if he can perform well before Solanke is back and others are still dealing with fitness issues & Ange is struggling for 11 senior starters, perhaps he can craft a more solid role for himself going forward. It's a high risk, high reward play; I'd spend 25-35% of FAAB here. He might not have the name value of Rashford or Asensio, but he's joining a more potent offense, he was the big deadline day signing, and his peak is yet to come..

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Marcus Rashford

Position: Winger/Forward (F in Fantrax)

Team: Aston Villa

Signed From: Manchester United on loan (TM value of €55m)

Prospects: Rashford is a very well-known player in a new environment. After falling out with new United manager Amorim, he decided he wanted to move on from the Red Devils after nearly a decade. The 27yo winger's wages and output may have scared off the bigger clubs from taking a chance on him, but Emery and recent cash-rich (via Duran sale) Villa decided to give him a go. He comes on loan with a ~€40m option to buy. Emery will be tasked with reviving Rashford's stalled career. Him and United have struggled in recent years and he's been far off his peak of 20+ return seasons. For example, in 22/23 he had 22 returns, 11.5 PP90, & 7.1 GPP90 in 32 games, but in 23/24 he had only 9 returns, 9.7 PP90, & 5.8 GPP90 in 26 games. This year, in 12 starts, he's had 10.6 PP90, 6.8 GPP90, & 8.8 PPS. Whether his regression is natural given his age, many minutes at a high level as a young player, and many injuries OR is more of a systemic issue with United's rotting attack remains to be seen.

This season Villa & United are actually generating a very similar amount of xG and shots per 90, so Rashford is not necessarily walking into a healthier attack either. Continued, low floor, high ceiling 9-10 PPS performance should be the expectation but so should questionable playing time. It'll certainly be far better than being frozen out, 0 minutes played for United in the last month, and his proven Premier league pedigree & production should afford him ample opportunities under Emery, but it is a newly crowded attack with Watkins, Rogers, Asensio, Malen, Bailey, and Ramsey for 3 or 4 positions. Rogers will need to move to RW or inside to CAM in order for Rashford to play at his preferred LW spot, but he could also end up at RW as well. I believe Rashford should comfortably have the 3rd highest expect starts of any Villa attackers rest of season behind Watkins and Rogers (thus ahead of Asensio, Malen, Bailey, etc.) but he shouldn't be expected to be an every week starter in the short to medium term, and his lack of floor will likely make him a Rogers-esque frustrating fantasy asset. Good enough to roster and play in good matchups, but unpredictable returns and duds. If he's available in your league (many he's still rostered), I'd spend 25-35% of FAAB here. He'll likely get more starts rest of season than Tel and Asensio (so is a somewhat safer pick) but may not score as well per start.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Marcos Asensio

Position: Winger/Attacking Mid (F in Fantrax)

Team: Aston Villa

Signed From: PSG on loan (TM value of €20m)

Prospects: The 29yo Asensio was a once star-boy who had many good, but no great seasons, despite winning countless trophies. He played for Real Madrid for 7 years and always hovered right around 20 starts per season. His last season for them (22/23) he had 15 returns (9G, 6A) in 15 starts and 16 bench apps (18.1 PP90, 10.9 GPP90) for the 2nd placed Spanish side. The past 1.5 seasons he's spent at PSG he has been a rotational starter (13 last year, then 8 this half season). His stats have come down but still look rosterable at 12.8 PP90 and 9.2 GPP90 (15.3 xPP90), of which a near set-piece monopoly have contributed. He's a great chance creator (in open play too) and high volume shot taker, but not a high volume dribbler. He's played across all 3 forward positions, most recently playing often through the middle for PSG. Previously, he's played plenty of both LW and RW.

Considering Ollie Watkins' prominence as Villa's 9, Asensio will most likely be used on the wings. Until recently, Villa didn't have much competition for attacking minutes, with Bailey badly out of form, Ramsey young and often injured, McGinn often needed deeper, and Buendia not preferred. But they've completely rotated their attacking corps after selling Duran, with Donyell Malen, Marcus Rashford, and now Asensio coming in. Besides Watkins, Morgan Rogers appears to be the only nailed attacker, meaning there's 1 or 2 spots open for the newcomers (or staying Ramsey/Bailey).

Fantasy-wise, Asensio should offer a different, safer statistical fantasy profile from the other Villa attackers like Rogers, Rashford, and Ramsey, who are high variance, low floor type of players. Asensio's consistent chance creation (particularly if he gets a share of sets) and shot volume should hopefully provide a more El Ghazi-esque, less Rogers-esque floor when starting. The minutes are the truly hard to predict thing here. There's a lot of bodies in attack, particularly on the wings now, and Asensio has never been an every week starter. He has the advantage of being the most right-sided player of the new signings though. If we attempt to find the middle ground, assume he starts half the games (7) over the rest of season and puts up a healthy 10 PPS (Villa are no PSG or Madrid), that'll put him around the 80th ranked player rest of season, a high WAR, yet inconsistent starter. The downside is he doesn't get sets off Digne, he never cracks the starting XI, and his career continues to falter (think Ansu Fati at Brighton). The upside is he revives his career under Emery, finds significant minutes, becomes Villa's primary creator (and set piece taker) and becomes a great ghost point scorer in the Prem (think Cunha at Wolves). The impressive historical fantasy point scoring (even this season) make this a worthwhile risk for me. I'd spend 20-30% of FAAB here. My expectation is less starts, but higher points per start than Rashford.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

James Ward-Prowse

Position: Central midfielder (M in Fantrax)

Team: West Ham

Returning From: Forest loan (TM value of €16m)

Prospects: The 30yo set piece maestro returns to his home club after falling far down the pecking order of Nuno's red hot Forest side. It's easy to forget but JWP actually started 34 (!!) games for West Ham just last season in the Prem. But Lopetegui brought in Guido Rodriguez and Carlos Soler, on top of the already there Soucek and Alvarez and Paqueta was used more in central mid, thus making JWP the odd one out and sent out to Forest. He started a couple times to begin the season, but was quickly outed by Elliot Anderson and Nicolas Dominguez in the pivot and MGW in the 10. Not to mention Danilo & Sangare being around and newly fit again. Potter is said (by David Ornstein) to be keen to work with JWP in his new-look WHU team upon his return to management. It makes some sense given Lope's new signings have not settled well and Paqueta & Alvarez are currently hurt (albeit not thought to be long-term injuries). 24yo Andy Irving got his Prem debut start today against Chelsea even, so you know Potter is looking for solutions.

Whether the aging JWP still has enough in the tank to start and get 70+ minutes consistently in the Prem remains to be seen. Last season, in 34 starts, he put up very respectable 11.25 PPS & 8.25 GPPS (only 7.37 PPS without sets). If he could even start half the games rest of season and get close to those PPS numbers he'd be a worthwhile roster. But again, he hasn't played consistently for months now and couldn't buy a game at Forest. Potter provides a fresh start though and they appear to be desperate in the short term. If he can hit the ground running, thread the needle of time between now and other CM injury returns, he could win a valuable spot back. He may be forced to play further back than he did last season given West Ham's attacking options which could limit his open-play upside, but his set piece monopolies can keep him fantasy-relevant even when not playing well in real-life (or in a good team). I'm cautiously optimistic that a fresh start may provide him with a platform for a return to some fantasy success. I'd spend up to 20% of FAAB on him, but he'll be on a short leash over the next couple weeks if he doesn't manage to break in quickly. It's worthwhile to note that your former fantasy managers may remember his glory days a bit too clearly and bid substantially higher here.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Kevin Danso

Position: Centre back (D in Fantrax)

Team: Spurs

Signed From: Lens for €25m

Prospects: A 26yo CB who has been a consistent fixture in Ligue 1 in France for the past 4 seasons. Returning to the Prem (a failed Saints stint in 2019) at age 20, Danso is strong in the air (2.9 aerials won p90), blocking shots (1.8 p90), and contributes well offensively for a centre back (0.9 shots p90, 0.5 KP/90). That solid volume on both sides of the ball lead to a 8.6 GPP90 for 7th placed Lens over the last year. This season, under Will Still in a more aggressive, Ange-like system, in 12 starts, Danso has been even more active, with 3.4 aerials won p90, 2.1 blocks p90, 1.7 interceptions p90, 5.2 clearances p90, and 0.8 shots p90 to reach a 9.7 PP90 (Tarkowski puts up 10.1)! His pace & defensive aggression should thus suit Spurs well, so his fantasy-relevance will likely come down to opportunity and how many starts he ends up with. If Romero and Van den Ven are fit, they'll almost definitely the preferred CB pairing, but that's a massive if. VdV appears to be mostly healthy, even if they're taking it cautiously with his fitness, and Romero seems to be weeks away, with Postecoglu saying it's proving trickier than initially thought. Behind them is a likely out for the season Dragusin, an aging Ben Davies, and a 18yo, converted yet capable midfielder, Archie Gray. Danso's resume suggests he should be able to capably beat out the other 3 for the first backup role (and starter while Romero is out). It may take a couple weeks to get there, so it's largely a question of Romero's return date (and whether he and VdV can stay healthy). Danso's statistical profile & historical ghost point output (plus Spurs CB's consistent injury troubles) suggest he's a worthwhile punt and hope that he get's starts in the short to medium term. At the very least, he should be a premium streamer when playing in easy to medium matchups. If he gets consistent starts rest of season though, he could be much, much more: A rare, high ghost-point scoring CB. In less competitive leagues, you may be able to wait for his first start (which could come quickly). In more competitive leagues, you might be able to wait 1 gameweek until Spurs play Ipswich (as his potential won't outweigh the generally low perception of Spurs D & lack of name value). That's if your league mates don't all read this article and see Danso for the potential diamond in the rough I think he could be. Spend a cheeky 5 FAAB and feel like a genius if pans out.

Patrick Dorgu

Position: Full/wing back (D in Fantrax)

Team: Man United

Signed From: Lecce for €30m

Prospects: United's only senior incoming of the window (not counting Heaven) for the thrifty INEOS will be 20yo Danish wing back Dorgu. He should fit Amorin's 3421 system quite well and immediately becomes their only fit, left-footed LWB (not including the right-footed Dalot). However, his fantasy scoring profile doesn't yet look particularly exciting. He's rotated between winger, wing back, and fullback for 17th placed Lecce in the Serie A for 2 seasons and put up 7.0 GPP90. That's right inline with Dalot's 7.1 GPPS (for an arguably better team, yet in a better league). But he's young, rapidly rising in the footy world, and should get significant minutes at left wing-back quickly for a team that could be good (albeit inconsistently) at some point. Think of his value right alongside Dalot's former fantasy value. Around the 110th or so ranked fantasy asset ROS, incredibly inconsistent and frustrating at times given United's struggles but worth rostering given some upside for a defender, and liable to do well occasionally given his attacking proclivities in good matchups (Spurs, Everton, Ipswich, Leicester 4 of the next 5 in the Prem). I'd spend 5-15% of FAAB in competitive leagues (you might have to pay some United tax).

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nico González

Position: Central midfielder(M in Fantrax)

Team: Manchester City

Signed From: Porto for €60m

Prospects: Man City have finally decided to address their middle of the park issues, after losing Rodri for the season, with the signing of the 23yo Spaniard Gonzalez. After playing for Barca, then Valencia on loan in La Liga, Nico was sold to Porto where he spent 2 seasons and had 7 goals and 4 assists during 42 starts for the 3rd placed Portuguese side. He's a central midfielder, capable of playing as a holding or attacking mid, but will likely be used further back in a Kova-esque (or alongside of) role under Pep due to the teams needs (and quantity of bodies further forward). At 6'2" (189 cm) he wins many aerials (2.8 p90), but is more than capable in the dribble (1.2 successful p90) and distributes well. In 700+ minutes (8 starts) in the Champions & Europa Leagues this season he put up 10.2 PP90 and 8.2 GPP90, with 1 goal and 2 assists.

Due to City's recent struggles, particularly defensively and conceding transitions in the midfield, I think Nico could break into the side rather quickly, or at least become part of the constant rotation. He may lack the significant return upside of Marmoush (still 0.17 npxG+xA p90), but could become a better version of Kova as a steadier, slightly higher floor & upside fantasy mid. If he manages to play next to, instead of replacing, Kova, he could even have greater upside and license to get forward, and approach Bernardo/Gundo of old levels. Any City non-defender is worth an add, even during their struggles, and Marmoush is a great example of Pep's newfound willingness to throw new bodies into the fray. By no means should you expect a stud, but as the only top half midfielder (as far as we know) on this long list of incomers, you could do worse for a MID3.  I'd spend about 5-10% of FAAB in competitive leagues if you could use midfielders or have other City rotational pieces.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ben Chilwell

Position: Wing/full back (D in Fantrax)

Team: Crystal Palace

Signed From: Chelsea on loan (TM value of €20m)

Prospects: The 28yo Chilwell has been left to rot in the Blues reserves all season after being part of the "Bomb Squad" and not finding a move in the summer. His cushy time away from playing will (hopefully) come to a close with a move to the Eagles. After playing 45 minutes all season (first half of a Carabao cup game vs Ligue 2 Barrow), Chilly will become the only fit wing back depth for Glasner's 3421 system. Tyrick Mitchell at LWB and Daniel Munoz at RWB have been run into the ground this season (24 and 23 starts, respectively) and Palace have long desired to get a more offensively capable alternative to Mitchell at LWB. More recently, after losing Chalobah to Chelsea, and Riad to injury, they've also been desperate for CB depth. Chilwell should be able to provide the former, but likely not the latter. Worst case, if they were to lose another CB, perhaps Mitchell shifts to LCB and Chilwell to LWB. As for the more immediate future, without any further hypothetical injuries, Chilwell will need to compete with Mitchell for starts at LWB. The 25yo Mitchell has never been a prolific attacker from full or wing back, but his defensive form has been worse than usual this season as well. More error-prone, perhaps more fatigued, many Palace fans believe Mitchell could use a rest/time out of the XI to find his form & Chilwell could provide that. I could see a world in which Chilwell is favored in the easier games and Mitchell the harder ones. The 2 big questions are how quickly Chilwell will be able to get up to speed and actually start Premier League games AND whether he'll be able to stay fit enough for half a season to semi-consistently play. I believe I'm more bullish than most on Chilwell's minutes rest of season, and as an attacking wing back that is entering a rare system that should suit him, I think he's worth an add as a rare upside defender if he gets starts. Daniel Munoz, a fellow 28yo attacking wing back is, after all putting up 12.8 PPS at RWB. I'd spend a few FAAB or up to about 8 if you're defense desperate.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Evan Ferguson

Position: Striker (F in Fantrax)

Team: West Ham

Signed From: Brighton on loan (TM value of €40m)

Prospects: Ferguson is the highly touted Irish, 20 yo striker that we've all seen falter in Prem fantasy in recent times. He's been on and off hurt and benched more often than not between De Zerbi's and Hurzeler's Brighton tenures. Even when he did start, he was quite return dependent (12.3 PP90, but 6.2 GPP90 in 22/23, then 7.8 PP90, 4.3 GPP90, 3.3 GPPS in 23/24). Whether Potter's West Ham can resuscitate his high potential, transfer value, and fantasy value remains to be seen, but I wouldn't be betting heavily on it. Historically, West Ham have struggled significantly to support strikers & see them have success, but perhaps Potter's more optimistic (than Lopetegui & Moyes at least) system may provide a better base for it.

The Hammers were certainly desperate for a striker signing, chasing many after Antonio was lost for the season and Fullkrug for a while too. Bowen (like today) and Kudus (like the past couple games, while Bowen was hurt) are the alternative pseudo 9's but are better suited on the wings running off a striker. Ferguson was fit enough again to be on the bench just days ago for Brighton but whether he's ready for 60+ minute starts is another question. Not to mention his consistent on and off injury problems. But, the path to starts at West Ham is certainty clearer than at Brighton. Medium to long term he should be West Ham's starting 9, even if only on a loan. That should again make him a sometimes starting, return dependent 9 on a mid-table team. Useful for forward desperate teams, or as a rotational, good matchup FWD3, but not worth investigating significant FAAB in. Also it may take a couple weeks of patience given his lack of recent minutes. I'd spend 5-10% of FAAB if you could use a forward but do not expect immediate payoff (Leicester at home in 3 gameweeks is likely your first opportunity).

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Carlos Alcaraz

Position: Central midfielder (M in Fantrax)

Team: Everton

Returning From: Flamengo on loan (obligation to buy with conditions for €15m)

Prospects: The 22yo Charly Alcaraz makes his return to the Prem after a 22/23 season of glimpses with relegated Southampton, an unsuccessful loan to Juve, a half season in the Championship and a half a season in Brazil. The Juve loan demonstrated that top sides once thought Alcaraz had significant potential, the sale to Brazil (albeit for €18m) a bit less so. Alcaraz is an attack-minded central mid, capable of playing as an 8, 10, or even second striker. Last time around in the Prem, he put up 7.8 PP90 and 4.2 GPP90 playing further forward for the relegated Saints. But over the last 1.5 years he's proven his defensive abilities as well, putting up impressive tackles won, blocks, and aerials won numbers in the Championship and Brazilian Serie A. In the English 2nd tier he scored 11.9 PP90 and 8.8 GPP90 (no sets) due to those plus 1.4 SOT/90, 1.3 KP/90, & 1.9 CoS/90. Then in Brazil, he put up 10.9 PP90 and 9.1 GPP90 (with signifcant sets) playing in a variety of positions including, DM, CM, AM, and even wing. Both of those teams, though, were near the top of their leagues and Everton very much will not be. They also shouldn't be as poor as Southampton 2 years ago. Whether they'll have use for his talents remains another question. They certainly need depth in the midfield positions after losing Mangala for the season to injury. But Gueye, Doucoure, and Garner may have the inside edge to the 3 starting mid roles in the short to medium term (with Ndiaye and Lindstrom on the wings). They're also on a hot run of form (3 wins in a row) so Moyes may resist making changes anytime soon. Still, Alcaraz is only 1 body away from getting significant time (Iroegbunam is also around in more defensive positions). His age and ability to play with and without the ball mean he could provide a solid floor and okay ceiling. He is a MID 4 type profile for fantasy when given starts, and any opportunities in the 10/most advanced mid spot for Everton plus possible right-footed sets (instead of Garner) provide some room for upside. Still, because said opportunities will likely not come quickly, and Everton are far from the sexiest of teams, you can likely afford to wait here and let him show promising signs.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alex Palmer

Position: Goalkeeper (G in Fantrax)

Team: Ipswich Town

Signed From: West Brom for €2m

Prospects: Palmer is the 28yo, (now former) starting keeper for 6th placed Championship side West Brom. He's started consistently for them over the past 3 seasons and now gets the chance to take his talents to the top level. Ipswich are in bad need of another goalie after recent injury ruled out recent starter Christian Walton for weeks, and beginning of the year starter, Aro Muric has been in awful form lately. Palmer could thus get his chance quickly, and given his solid shot-stopping numbers (74% save rate, 0.08 PSxG-GA/90) he could be a viable fantasy goalie in a team that gives up a lot of shots. Stream accordingly.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️1/2

Eiran Cashin

Position: Centre back (M in Fantrax)

Team: Brighton

Signed From: Derby for €11m

Prospects: A 23yo Irishman, coming from the Championship, Cashin will provide much needed depth at CB for the Gulls who only have 3 semi-fit CB's at the moment (Dunk, Van Hecke, and Webster). A whopping 10.7 GPP90 for 22nd placed Derby (made up of 3.5 aerials, 2.2 interceptions, 4.9 clearences, & 1.7 tackles won per 90) will likely come crashing down in Hurzeler's higher possession system, but is impressive nonetheless. More unfortunately, that ghost point potential & physical prowess will likely be nailed straight to the bench, given Cashin's lack of senior football at the highest level and captain Dunk's and Van Hecke's largely impressive & solidified partnership. One to watch/stream if there's more injuries and/or he gets an occasional start.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️

Axel Disasi

Position: Centre back (D in Fantrax)

Team: Aston Villa

Signed From: Chelsea on loan (TM value of €26m)

Prospects: The 26yo Frenchman was signed for €45m from Monaco just a season and a half ago by the Blues but is now far surplus to requirements and they'd like his wages off their books. He did actually start 29 games for them in the Prem last season, but youngsters Colwill, Chalobah, Acheampong as well as Tosin appear to have surpassed him in the pecking order. Performance wise, Disasi has been capable on the ball, passing, and contributing attacking headers, but low volume defensively, thus leading to a lowly 4.7 GPP90 last season for Chelsea. Previously, at 6th placed Monaco in 22/23, he was a bit more busy, putting up 7.6 GPP90, due to 2.6 aerials won p90, 1.5 interceptions p90, and more. At Emery's Villa he could get starting oppurtunities given the many CB injuries (Torres, Mings) and Carlos departing. Konsa and Mings, when fit, may still be the preferred pairing, but he should at least be the next up. Unfortunately, Villa CB's have historically not been good fantasy scorers and Disasi's profile doesn't suggest he'll buck the trend. I'd stay away for now.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️

Nasser Djiga

Position: Centre back (D in Fantrax)

Team: Wolves

Signed From: Red Star Bellegrade for €12m

Prospects: Djiga is a 22yo Burkinabé CB coming from the Serbian Superlig. He has also started 8 times in the Champions League where he put up 5.8 GPP90. He looks to be quite good on the ball but is far from an aggressive defender (sub 30th percentiles in aerials won, tackles, clearances, and blocks), which does not lend itself to a valuable fantasy player in a poor Wolves side. He'll likely take some time to adapt to the higher level of competition and will face competition for starts, but does at least provide Vitor Pereira's side with much needed depth at CB.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️

Marshall Munetsi

Position: Central midfielder (M in Fantrax)

Team: Wolves

Signed From: Stade Reimes for €20m

Prospects: After former captain, Mario Lemina decided to move on, Wolves are significantly lacking in depth in the engine room. Gomes and Andre are the starters for now, but when they're missing, attacking mid Bellegarde or the lesser suited Tommy Doyle need to fill in. 28yo Zimbabwean Munetsi should fill that gap. He may have atrocious passing numbers (2nd percentile passes completed % and 1st percentile for passes attempted) but he does win balls (tackles + aerials) and generate xG (0.2 p90, largely from 1.7 shots p90) fairly well. I expect he'll largely be a backup to Gomes and Andre (perhaps replacing the latter in easier matchups) but his 8.1 PP90 & 6.5 GPP90 in France do not inspire confidence for a relevant fantasy midfielder at lowly Wolves.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️

Mathis Amougou

Position: Central mid (M in Fantrax)

Team: Chelsea

Signed From: Saint-Etienne for €15m

Prospects: A 19yo CM playing his first senior season of football in France. In 9 starts & 8 sub apps, he's had 0 goals, 0 assists and 5GPP90. He's very young, raw, and not likely to break into the Chelsea side anytime soon. He's yet another young, high potential to resell at a higher fee signing for Chelsea in a positional profile (CM/DM) that they could use help at. A loan back to Strasbourg looks decently likely too.

Rating: ⭐️

Pour One Out: Transferred Out Players

  • Jhon Duran: Ah what could have been. A ridiculous goals per minute rate, an occasional upside stream, an occasional terror for Ollie Watkins managers, Duran has chased the bag to go to Saudi.

  • Joao Felix, Mario Lemina, Jeff Schlupp, Rob Holding, Miguel Almiron, Valentin Barco (2x), Kosta Nedeljkovic, Tyrell Malacia, Lloyd Kelly, Adam Armstrong (maybe, deal sheet pending), & Emmanuel Dennis (yes, he's still been on Forest): No reminiscing needed I'm afraid, and some will be back from their loans eventually (or not).
