Premier League Predicted Starting XI: Arsenal

Find below all the details on how we think Arsenal will lineup this season. This is subject to change based on new signings and pre-season friendly data, of course.

Arsenal Predicted Starting Lineup: Graphical View

Coming into the summer transfer window, Arsenal were looking to strengthen the following areas: striker, central midfield, and depth at LB & RW. Gabriel Jesus comes in as the primary striker and Eddie Nketiah, fresh off signing a new deal, will be his deputy up front and may even play alongside Jesus in some fixtures. In a move that surprised many, the Gunners also signed Portuguese starlet Fabio Vieira, who is a creative/attacking midfielder that has some flexibility to play in several areas. He'll likely serve as backup to Odegaard and potentially play in that role in early Europa and domestic cup competitions. Youri Tielemans is also being heavily linked with the Gunners as he seeks a move away from Leicester. He would likely play in a CM slot alongside Thomas Partey but also has utility in other areas of the midfield.

At the LB position, the Gunners chased Lisandro Martinez before inking a deal with Man City's Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Ukrainian also can play as a left-sided central midfielder, a role he has played to critical acclaim in the national team, but will likely rival oft-injured Tierney for the starting LB spot. Meanwhile, unless Arsenal sign a new winger (Raphinha was rumored until he signed with Barcelona), Martinelli and Smith Rowe will be fighting it out for the LW role. In defense, Saliba has returned after a successful loan spell at Marseille, and will be looking to challenge Gabriel and White for a CB slot. In short, Arsenal shored up critical areas and added much needed depth. One thing to monitor is if/when Arteta reverts to a 4-3-3 with Partey as the lone pivot, which would allow for other attacking players to get a look in. But for now, the safe bet is continuation of the formation below.
